"Bought a 2013 RDX AWD in July 2012 when it just came out. Far outshines competition in value for the money-what are costly options on many other cars are standard on the RDX. It's drives beautifully and is incredibly smooth and powerful. There are several issues, though: (1) like another reviewer, my sunroof doesn't close all the time. The dealer lubricated the assembly and it's still happening, so another trip to the dealer. 7 out of 10 times, when it hits the air deflector it slides back. Only way to close it is to hold the deflector down with my finger and get out of the way before my finger gets crushed. (2) the a/c - it cycles off too quickly. I get about 5-8 seconds of cold air and then the compressor cycles off, blowing cool, moist air. This is with temp set at "lo" and any fan speed. Dealer says it's normal, but the car does not cool down on hot days because the air isn't cold for long enough. Also think that no rear a/c vents is shameful, given that my Accord has them. (3) At 6500 miles, had to have front brake pads replaced and rotors resurfaced. Had very high hopes for this car knowing Honda/Acura's reputation for quality and reliability so these issues are a disappointment."

Vibration / Engine Problem After 10 months

"I bought an Acura RDX (2013) because of the Acura name, and the Honda engine and reliability. The car worked well for the first 10 months, or 11,000 miles, although I did have problems with the start button sometimes not working and it not starting. Recently the car developed strong vibrations when driving at almost any speed, from 1mph - 45mph. The vibrations are strongest when backing out, or standing on an intersection. There is a rattling noise as well. I took the car in to get it serviced and the dealer told me this is a KNOWN flaw in the design of the car and that Acura is working on it. I've called Acura, and they confirmed this is a flaw, but they don't know if/when this will be fixed. Apparently, online reports confirm that around the 6k-12k mileage, the car develops these problems and almost EVERYONE who has the car for about 10 months reports it. Right now, I'm stuck with paying for a car that rattles like an old piece of junk and is less than a year old and Acura gave me no indication if it will ever be fixed. Anyone wanna buy an RDX cheap?"

"Great car, smooth at 135 mph but gets only 7 mph at that speed all this done on a banked superspeedway. Would love it with out the speed limiter and 500 bph so when driving it on the track it would keep up with the other cars we were filming."

One MAJOR design flaw

"The one thing they don't tell you and that I wish I would have known before buying this car is that the VCM does not kick in if you are driving at about 75 mph or higher. So I either have to adjust my driving style and learn patience or get a whopping 20-21 mpg on the highway. I have not yet contacted my dealer to see if there is any work-around but if there isn't I will be EXTREMELY disappointed with this purchase. Other than that, it is a pretty solid car overall. Other small things that bug me are the clunky rear suspension and the small gas tank but those weren't dealbreakers. When compared to similar vehicles I think it is a good value, and Acura is known for its dependable and long lasting cars. If if wasn't for the one major flaw I would probably give it 5 stars. But I'm not getting anywhere near the advertised gas mileage and I drive at about the average speed for my area. And MPG was a major factor for me in deciding on a new vehicle. So faster drivers, be warned. I wish I was."

Stylish storage

"I traded in a 2003 Honda Pilot on the Acura RDX. My initial fears were lack of storage space and having to use premium fuel. However, storage space has not been an issue so far and the 2013 RDX uses regular unleaded. Having the V6 as opposed to last year's turbo 4 provides more than adequate power but still good gas mileage, better than the Pilot. My RDX has the technology package and if you are a techie then it will satisfy all your needs although I think in some areas it's overkill. One area and this applies across the board, Honda needs to focus on sound deadening as there is still road noise although less than was in the Pilot."

"I spent a lot of time researching and driving a number of luxury compact SUV's including Volvo xc60; Audi Q5; BMW x3 and some others. Each had their pluses and faults but i think for overall value and performance, the 2013 RDX is hard to beat."

"I got the 2013, tech package with AWD. I have it for about 5 months now. I had tried MB GLK350, Acura F35, Lexus LS350, and Toyota Venza. None of them had the similar room and only MB was more comfortable than the RDX. It has more room and runs strong enough for my family of four. Gas milage is averaging 22 mpg with highway averaging at 27 mpg when I drove it to LA. It potentially gives more mpg if driving in a flat road. sound system and quietness is great. I really enjoy its ride, features and look."
