Vehicle Overview

The TSX is Acura's entry-level premium car that's offered in sedan and wagon form. It seats up to five people and competitors include the Audi A4, BMW 328i, Buick Regal and Lexus IS 250.

Exterior

The TSX's wheels are accented by large fender flares, and the front of the car is defined by a grille that features a silver-colored upper bar. Exterior features include:

  • Standard xenon headlights
  • Standard fog lights and side mirrors with integrated turn signals
  • 17-inch alloy wheels standard on four-cylinder models
  • 18-inch alloy wheels standard on V-6 models

Interior

The TSX's interior has a high-quality appearance and room for up to five people. The standard stereo is USB/iPod compatible. Bluetooth connectivity is also standard. The optional navigation system boasts enough hard drive space for 15 gigabytes of music. Interior features include:

  • Standard power-adjustable heated front seats
  • Standard leather upholstery and moonroof
  • Standard dual-zone automatic climate control
  • Cellphones with music players can sync with the TSX's stereo via Bluetooth
  • Available navigation system with traffic and weather updates
  • Available CD/DVD-audio-compatible surround-sound system

Under the Hood

The TSX is available with a four-cylinder or V-6 engine. The car has front-wheel drive and is offered with a choice of a manual or automatic transmission. The automatic includes steering-wheel paddle shifters. Mechanical features include:

  • 201-horsepower, 2.4-liter four-cylinder with 170 (automatic) or 172 (manual) pounds-feet of torque; five-speed automatic or six-speed manual
  • 280-hp, 3.5-liter V-6 with 254 pounds-feet of torque; five-speed automatic only

Safety

Safety features include:

  • Antilock brakes
  • Side-impact airbags for the front seats
  • Side curtain airbags for both rows
  • Electronic stability system
  • Active head restraints for front occupants

TSX Sport Wagon

A wagon version of the TSX entry-luxury car joined the lineup for 2011, and there have been no significant changes to it since. The wagon's design doesn't differ much from the sedan's styling until you get to the rear, where an open cargo area replaces the trunk. Back to top
