"Well, I'm not going to say this was the most reliable car I've owned, but it overall has been a great experience so far. The engine is AMAZINGLY powerful with low end torque right there when you need it. The handling is great, but would be even better if I opted for the sport pkg. Features for money is disappointing, but I could have gotten a GTI for less, but I wanted an Audi - plus the A3 is a 5door. I have had some problems all covered under warranty, but was never left stranded due to an engine/transmission malfunction: Ignition coils were faulty and made the engine idle very roughly. Spark plugs had to be replaced and the main gripe...when weather was scorching hot the air conditioning copmressor did not work anymore. This took 3 weeks to come in after Audi ordered me the wrong part. But this car has been a great deal of fun and would still recommend it to anyone who wants something different and sexy but extrememly practical."

"I have been driving an Acura TL with a 6 speed manual. Great car but with a bad knee, shifting became an issue. The A3 is the most balanced car I have ever driven. Superb power with the 2.0T, excellent handling and very good fuel economy. With this car I can commute responsibly, do it in comfort and yet have a VERY fun car to drive whenever I want. Yes, the car is a bit more pricey, but how else are Americans who want quality going to get into smaller cars? I really have no reservations about the car. I did drive the 3.2, but that car seemed heavier and less agile. I also love the open roof - it feels like a convertible without wind in your hair. Obviously I love this car!"

"This is the best car I ever owned and I will ever own.... It has the best of everything... Versatility, safety, speed, economy, luxury, and most importantly fun... Read the reviews there is nothing negative about this car... and after owning it for a year its truly stood up to the amazing reviews. I enjoy the DSG and the amazing smooth ride for a sport package. One thing I recommend for those that live in colder climates, get the cold weather package, it heats up your side view mirrors and can be valuable. Otherwise enjoy your A3 everywhere you go..."

"This is one amazing car...really. It replaced my 03 Mini Cooper S and it's much easier to live with. This A3 still has compact dimensions, but it's much larger inside than most people think. The 2.0L turbo engine makes 200hp and 207 lb-ft @ only 1800 RPM! This makes it VERY quick off the line and continues all the way to the redline. Standard features on the base car are quite extensive, but at this price point one would expect an MP3 readable CD player (it's not), and meatier tires. The all seasons on the non-sport package equipped model have a very low threshold for pain, so I would recommend a more aggressive tire considering how great the handling feel is. Also, steering feel is a little too light at slow speeds for my liking, but it really firms up as the speed increases. Overall, this car is as solidly built, fun to drive, and surprisingly fuel efficient car as you're going to find at this price. To top it off, you can add pretty much any options you wish like HID's, leather, navigation, and heated seats etc. But the base model is just fine with me."

"A phenomenal car - superb acceleration even from 65mph. Direct Shift Gearbox (Audi's sophisticated manumatic) has to be driven to be believed. When shifting manually, shift is instantaneous. It was so impressive, I switched from the manual transmissions I've preferred for 20 years. Solid feeling, responsive handling, predictable. I don't find the interior small at all. In fact, entry, seat position and legroom in the A3 I found superior to the Acura TSX I also considered. Downside? This car wants to be driven at Autobahn speeds. It's like riding a thoroughbred horse - you really have to restrain yourself from taking it all out. Why, WHY hasn't Audi advertised this car more? It's phenomenal."

"We looked at may cars including BMW, Lexus, and Mercedes, and bought our A3. This car is a pocket rocket waiting to take off. Besides the handling and acceleration, it turns heads every where we go. The amaizing thing about it is that there is more room inside then you might think. Even with 4 people, the back is not too bad if you are under 6' tall. The front seat is more comfortable than our Mercedes C240, and so far less of a headache than the Benz. Our Benz was in the dealers garage more than it was in our garage. So far, our A3 has had no problems, and we don't expect it to be a problem car. Once you test drive it...you will buy it."

"Good price for an Audi. Engine is very responsive(2.0L 200hp). No turbo lag. Good amount of torque for a 4 cyclinder, front wheel drive car. Effortless steering. None fading solid brakes. Very good mpg. I went to Europe this summer and I was inpressed with the 2 door version. 4 doors make it easy to get in and out of the back seat. Very roomy all around. Interior is excellent."

"When I was researching for a new car I had either a choice of BMW 3 series, Lexus IS, Acura TL, and G35 Coupe. I had drove them all and it not nearly as fun as this car. Audi's DSG transmission shifting is amazing. None of those cars came close to the speed of Audi's transmission shifts. Plus the car is quicker and more fun than those cars, and all those cars you see are all over the roads "espically BMWs". I had wanted something new and fresh so I got a black Audi A3 sport package. Still, Audi A3 lacks of luxury touches. Like in the sport package no power seats, Xenons headlight, trip computer, rain sensors, bluetooth, they all should be standard. Other than that it's an amazing fun car to drive. Test drive one and see for yourself."

"For under $30,000, you get gobs of style, luxury features seen on high-end sedans, versatility, rarity (in a good way), blockbuster performance, and the original-ness of the Audi badge. The A3 is the perfect car for people who want a stylish, versatile car for the city, that still gets good gas mileage (26 mpg). The interior is just as stylish as the exterior, and even easier to use than my other Audi (S4 Cabriolet) and my wife's Lexus (RX330). In three years, I will be giving my [very excited] son this car, and he thinks it is just as perfect as I do. I will probably buy another A3, and I recommend it greatly! ('06 A3 2.0T DSG)"
