Vehicle Overview

Audi’s already luxurious and stylish flagship sedan is getting a makeover for 2015 with a horsepower bump and updated front- and rear-end styling.ExteriorThe A8 was redesigned for 2011 and the 2015 update only improves on its dynamic look. The stunning LED headlights return to the A8’s face, with a slightly tweaked design for the new year. The hood also wears a slightly freshened look with more creases, and the front and rear bumpers have been enlarged for a wider look.

Specific S8 model updates include larger air intakes in the lower front bumper and less chrome trim than the regular version for a “sportier look,” Audi said in a statement. In back, the taillights wear a slightly modified design, and there’s a new oval-shaped quad sport exhaust tailpipe. Both models get a new selection of 20-inch wheels and a choice of five additional exterior paint colors.InteriorThe A8’s cabin design and finishes carry over to 2015, but Audi says the new models use “significant acoustic measures for a quieter cabin” as well as “optimized trunk packaging for improved space and usability.” The updated S8 model sees some cabin additions, however, with a new trim choice: Vermont Brown leather seats and surfaces paired with carbon twill copper inlays.

In terms of features and controls, Audi’s MMI navigation plus system will again be available, including the Google Earth mapping and Google Voice search functionalities. The Audi connect system is also available. It provides real- time localized weather, news and live fuel prices as well as in-vehicle Wi-Fi connectivity for up to eight wireless devices.Under the HoodFor 2015, the turbocharged 4.0-liter V-8 gets a horsepower bump from 420 to 435. The TDI version that joined the A8 roster carries over to the 2015 model and is again joined by the entry-level 3.0-liter and range-topping 6.3-liter W-12 model; the latter gets Audi’s Cylinder on Demand cylinder-deactivation system for 2015. For the S8, the 520-hp, twin-turbo 4.0-liter V-8 engine returns. An eight-speed automatic is again the sole transmission.

As far as other changes under the hood, Audi says that a new electromechanical power-steering system should provide “greater comfort and agility, while improving fuel efficiency.” Official fuel-economy figures have not yet been released, however.SafetyLoads of new available safety equipment join the A8 and S8 features lists this year. Highlights include active lane assist, Secondary Collision Assist, Night Vision Assistant with Pedestrian Detection, a head-up display and Audi Park Assist.

  • i absolutely loved the car but.

i absolutely loved the car but.....I now have a $100,000 car That has had no cruise control or emergency braking for going on 2 years. Audi does not have the part to repair it and tell me it is discontinued. This is unacceptable and the reason for the one star review and the reason I will never buy another AUDI. They apparently don't care about this issue or they would provide the part needed.

  • Quite possibly the best car I have ever owned

I've always been a fan of the Audi A8L and finally found the opportunity to own one. The good news, you can find pre-owned A8's affordably...the bad news for new car buyers, they don't hold there value quite well, but that's good for someone wanting to drive a $100,000 car that 4-5 years old, still looks and performs great for a fraction of the cost. The A8L has the room of a limo in the rear, even with the front seats pushed all the way back. The car feels luxurious inside and out...the materials are top-notch and what I love about Audi is they're not a BMW...even though I love BMW's...it's nice to drive something a little less common. Performance is unbelievable...the 4.0 twin turbo V-8 has tons of torque and pulls hard...you wouldn't think a car this large and this heavy would perform this well. It's an easy car to modify with a performance chip and suddenly there aren't many cars around that will outperform it...and it's a family size sedan! Although it's a large car, it still handles well, not like a sports car, but you won't be sloppy. The ride is luxurious and smooth...it eats up bumps, the air ride is great. Word is that repairing the air suspension is not cheap, but it might just be worth the risk. I love the ride!! Everything is within easy reach, the multi media system is easy to navigate without taking your eyes off the road once you're used to it, which is easy. Heads-up display is easy to see and read. A/C and other accessories are easy to use. The suspension can be adapted to your preference with presets and a custom setting you can do yourself. Interior lighting at night is unbelievable...it's customizable and really sets a cool mood. Stereo sounds amazing with the Bose package, but if you're lucky to get your hands on the B&O you're in for a real treat...it's a $6300 option by itself (which is crazy) I own a A4 Cabriolet, Q5 and I'm happy with all of our Audis. Audi has been tremendous to work with and as a company, they appreciate the owners of their cars, even if you purchased them pre-owned. It's a great company and I'm impressed...not easy to do for me. Thanks Audi for creating this wonderful automobile that has blown my socks off!

  • Most Car You Could Possibly Get For The Money

This vehicle is an absolute UNIT. From the inside and out, to performance and comfort, this Audi takes the cake. I’ve owned Benz’ to Beamers, and nothing holds a candle to it.

  • An absolute steal as a used car

Purchased a 2015 A8L 4.0T pre-owned--5 years old to the day. Bought without a scratch on it and paid less than a loaded Honda Accord. I cross shopped the S-Class, 750i, and others. Nothing could match the combination of whisper quiet luxury, all out acceleration, and nimble handling (in dynamic mode). There's just no comparison. This car is large and luxurious, but feels like a much smaller car when driving it. 4 seconds to 60...and 30 mpg on the highway. Wow!

  • Great EXCEPT....

Extraordinary gas mileage and comfort. ACC / LANE ASSIST, continual problems. Hesitation upon acceleration and air suspension problems. MMI screen glitch. Other than that, Exhilarating driving this car. It is impressive to drive on curvy roads. COMPLETELY safe feeling. Powerful yet refined!

This is the car for that luxury look and feel. Great performance in the road for that passing need and smooth ride. Great interior for those cold winters as well as AC seat cooling and massage seats.

  • Amazing automobile

This is by far the nicest car I have ever owned and my last car was a Mercedes E350. The 2015 A8 is super quiet and smooth and the power is unbelievable (I have the 4.0T). The quality of the interior materials far exceeds any other cars that I was shopping for. After test driving the 4.0 I knew it was the car for me and I no longer considered the E class as a contender. Mercedes has destroyed the E Class which used to be smooth as silk (not anymore).

  • I love it so far.

This is the nicest car I've ever owned! It's a luxury vehicle that has enough room both front and back. It has tons of extras that I am still trying to figure out. There is one small issue with it but I will take that up with the dealer but I love this car. Pretty nice.

  • Performance, Luxury, Class

From the moment you slip into the driver's seat until you stomp on the accelerator to engage the twin turbos, this car delivers everything you want or need. Driving dynamics can be adjusted from limo to hot rod. Everything feels just right.... from the brake pedal pressure to the switch gear on the dash. No compromises anywhere. With 430hp and 444lbft this thing moves with authority. Might need a bigger rearview mirror so you can more easily identify who you just left in the dust. Don't buy new... let someone else take the depreciation hit.

  • A lot of car for the money

The Audi A8 is a wonderful luxury car. It is whisper quite, smooth ride, has Quattro AWD, aluminum body (no rust), good handling, good brakes, nice Bose stereo, comfortable seats, lots of room inside, good power, and makes a wonderful highway cruiser. All luxury cars depreciate more than others and this makes them a great buy.
