"this car will make you feel invincible. you will feel as if doing anything on the road can be done and without fear of crashing or anything. this is indeed the ultimate automobile. the only bad thing is there isnt enough horsepower and torque compared to todays standards. otherwise great car."

"I've had this car for a few weeks, and the performance on this car, is like no other car I have driven. I plan on keeping this 2002 for a couple more years, and then trading it in for a 2006. Great car, and definitely recommend it! Make sure you change oil every 3k miles even though the dealer says 10k, and you'll be fine."

"I have owned this car for 4 years. The laundry list of repairs; 4 Window Regulators, Water Pump, Lower Control Arms, Climate Control Sensor, Thermostat, Left Rear Tail Light, Right Rear Tail Light, Oil Filter Housing, and numerous sensors for Check Engine Light. I am amazed that a vehicle born of "German Engineering" has so many quality and reliability issues. I have learned that the Lower Control Arms typically wear out at 60 to 80 K miles on this car. ??? Why?"

"I purchased my 325i used in Chicago. The car had some minor body work so I was concerned but the price was right. I have been very happy with the purchase. Some repairs (three window regulators broke and AC/heat fan motor) but I have a good mechanic. The car has some minor rattles after 65k but the handling is absolutely impeccable. If you don't sweat the small stuff i.e. window controls and power locks near the stick shift, and appreciate a fun drive on twisty roads, an '02 325i five speed manual is a good choice. I am looking forward to my next BMW purchase."

"We bought a new one over 6 years ago and have put over 90,000 miles on it. It still runs and looks like brand new. It probably will run the same for another 90,000 miles and still look and run brand new. Very, very pleased!"

Certified Pre-Owned Piece of Junk

"In April of 2005, I purchased a Certified Pre-Owned 2002 BMW 325i sedan with approximately 56K miles. I paid $18,000 for the vehicle, which was sold through a local BMW dealership. Three years and 65K miles later, here is what I have experienced... First, the vehicle, which came with the extended Certified Pre-Owned warranty to 100K miles, has cost me more than $6,600 in service and repairs. I have been forced to have the vehicle towed to the dealership twice for repairs. In only 36 months, and having only driven 65K miles, the repairs and service of this vehicle (remember, warrantied to 100K miles) have cost me an average of $183 per month! Currently, the vehicle sits in my garage with the following issues: 1. The interior wood trim on the doors has popped off for the 6th time. 2. The radio volume/on/off knob has popped loose, and although it still works, it wiggles around like some cheap toy radio. 3. There is a squeeling noise that eminates from the air vents when you take right hand turns. 4. The roundel BMW logo on the hood has completely disintegrated. 5. The front headlight is burned out. This may seem reasonable, but in the 3 years that I have owned the vehicle, this is the 4th lighting problem or burnout. 6. The air conditioning has stopped blowing cold air, just in time for a Midwest summer! I'm sure that when I take the vehicle back to the dealership for service, there will be even more issues or problems discovered. So that others can compare their vehicles, or make an informed choice...my TOTAL cost of ownership for this Certified Pre-Owned 2002 BMW 325i sedan is: 1. $6,600 in repairs and service. 2. $8,125 in gasoline (24mpg/$3.00 per gallon) 3. $3,600 in insurance. TOTAL COST: $18,325 Given that I purchased this Certified Pre-Owned 2002 BMW 325i sedan for $18,000, you can total my current costs to be $36,325 for 36 months and only 65K miles of driving. If you'd like to know more about my experience, check YouTube and other Internet sites, where I plan to post my story, along with vidoes and audios. I also plan to post every single repair and service invoice as proof of my claims. Thanks for reading. Buy Mercedes Benz, Audi or Saab!"
