"My second Bimmer. Got hooked on the Ultimate Driving Machine after driving a friend's older 528. Truly a driver's car. Prefer performance/sport feel to luxury. My first was an 04 330ci that I bought in 06. Just traded it for an 11 328i coupe CPO with the M Sport Pkg. Performance and handling comparable, but the 330 didn't have the sport pkg. And it was a 6 spd. The 328 has the paddle shifters. Jury out on the 328, just bought it yesterday. Only had 16, 000 miles on it. Will tint the back three windows and possible custom wheels later."

"I purchased 2011 bmw 328i with 17k mileage. This car runs like a dream. The best feature in the car is sound insulation, just a very mild noise can be heard on acceleration. They run flat tires, so when your happen to have a flat tire, car will go as far as 150 miles without having to stop and change tires. What a great feature. Interior combines classic looks with modern features. I love stitching on the leather, looks very sturdy. Even dashboard is wrapped in grainy leather just like the rest of the interior. Blue tooth and radio controls are stratigecally placed on the steering wheel."

"This is my first BMW. I owned plenty of luxury Japanese and GM cars in the past. This car is by far more superior than any of my previous cars. The ride is quiet and it handles pot holes or street imperfections with plenty of ease. Even with the low profile Run Flats. The interior is quiet always quiet. The steering wheel feels very solid. The 328 is not super fast off the start for 0-60, but on the highway, it is a beast. So much detail was put into making this car. The exterior paint is very imperessive. Very different from any of my previous cars. You can tell there are plenty of coats of paint on the car. I'm 2 yrs into it, and still under the maintenance plan with BMW, so I have not run into any mechanical issues yet. Wished the interior was bigger, as only 4 adults can really fit into this car. So far, very pleased with this purchase."

What a regret - NOT the ultimate driving machine

"I leased this in June 2010 and have put 30k on it in 2.5 years. I can't wait for the lease to end. I was ending my medical residency and flush with cash and went out and snatched up this shiny 42k car and what a dumb idea that was. First, the automatic V6 is very slow. Put your foot on the accelerator and count to four before the car starts to move. The handling is very rough. On the freeways around here the surface is frequently grooved and this surface interacts with the car's suspension and whips you all over the lane at 65 MPH. We have had to re-align it twice in the first 25k miles with routine city driving and it is a bear on tires - very expensive tires. As the tires wear they wear on the inside edges which causes them to make a growling sound that gives a lot of obtrusive cabin noise. The electric readouts on the dash are polarized for some strange reason which means if you are wearing polarized glasses you can't work the radio. The hands free phone always sounds to the other person like the caller in the BMW is standing in the Lincoln tunnel. We have taken long drives to the beach and it isn't very comfortable for a family of three. The back seat is only for show, although a car seat does fit back there ok. The blue color is pretty, my wife wants to add. Occasionally our standard sound system will let out a long shreak through the speakers that continues about 30 seconds even if you shut the car off. Weird. For the price I paid too many quirks and too many poorly designed functions. I would have been better served with a Camry at half the price."

"We've not owned our 328 long, so I am not sure about the reliability yet. Time will tell on that one. However, our car delivers the driving experience I've always wanted in a car, I feel like I have the road in my hands! My favorite features are: horsepower, precise handling, heated steering wheel, and the bluetooth audio. I couldn't be happier with the overall buying experience and car ownership experience."

"This car drives wonderfully but other issues makes me wonder if it was worth it. Did 5k miles on it and the adaptive headlights stopped working. A week later I get an engine oil level below min warning. Hard to make out if this is a faulty sensor or if oil level is indeed low cause there is no dipstick to manually check. Very clever design indeed - if you are going to add sensors to check oil & other essentials atleast make them reliable. "To be safe add a quart of oil" is all I got from the dealer. And other small annoying things like the glove compartment doesn't fit even their own manuals. Here is a thought make the manual smaller or glove compartment bigger Duh! Not to mention that the GPS is as good as a 100$ garmin at best. My iphone does a better job. All in all bimmers drive well but all other things are not well though out and poorly designed."

"BEAUTIFUL CAR!!! Wish the gas milage was better. Doesn't have back-up sensors. Not sure about the Run-Flat tires that BMW now installs on almost all their vehicles. Oh Well, I still LOVE my new BMW!"

"I own a 2011 3238i xdrive and an Infinity G35 Coupe (2005). Not a direct comparison, but one that should be made. First and foremost the BMW is much more quiet at idle and on the highway. I switch back and forth between the cars when commuting and the differences do stand out. The beemer has a better ride, but probably due to the G"s sport car background, thus tighter suspension. The BMW makes the driver feel clumsy when operating its electronic options whereas the G's option controls are instantly intuitive and simple in operation. (I have I drive). The G has far more power (which I'm sure the 335i would correct) and an exhaust note that is plain old sexy. My BMW's interior is far superior to my G's which feels really engulfed in plastic. Handling wise its a dead heat with my personal edge going to the G. Reliability wise, well, lets put it this way......since buying my G in 2005 its been to the dealer for warranty work not even once. Outside oil changes and a recall for an airbag issue, the only time I see the dealer is for basic maintenance. Conversely, my beemer which I bought new in 2010 has already been in for warranty work 3 times. Once for a broken I drive joystick. Once for a faulty a/c compressor. Once for a non functioning cup holder and faulty abs light. It is now due for another warranty call as the navigation will not work. Not encouraging to say the least. A good thing at least is that BMW covers all the basic maintenance for the first 4 years. Bottom line, the 328i is a great vehicle, and I love it to death. Its functional in an every day drivers sense, fun to drive and looks great. However, to claim it as the ultimate driving machine is a joke. I think I'll give an M series a try in a few years."
