"This is a great entry level luxury car, awesome performance with the twin turbo plus more than adequate gas mileage (~25.5 MPG HWY, 22.5 MPG City). The car handles the corners with breeze and hugs the curves just as well. It's a very fun car to drive, no question about it!! The compromise is the reliability - I had to take it to the dealer for a bad battery, seat belt arm doesn't catch the seat belt to bring it forward. This has got to be the crappiest seat belt design in a car but I knew that going into the purchase. The side view mirrors lose their memory so I'll be taking it to the dealer for that as well. Luckily, it's still under warranty and I have to say that the dealer has been very helpful with getting me up and running. Overall, a great car to drive, fun and sleek with superior performance but reliability could be a problem"

"I purchased the bimmer 18 months ago and have been pleased overall. I had my fuel pump replaced and have not had any problems. This car is Not a Lexus! You will feel almost every bump in the road. This is a drivers car. There is a reason why this is the most popular car by Road & Track employees. The run flats suck and I replaced them immediately. While this car comes stock at 300hp, I recently had mine dyno'd at 375 hp to the wheels. This was after about $1,000 in after market performance products. The N54 engine is a tuners dream! You can get extra horsepower easily if that is your sorta thing. Overall, this is a classy, performance car that is well worth the money!"

"I've been pleasantly surprised by this car now that i've been driving it for 3 months. It is still fun to drive and the handling is appreciated when I need to make quick moves to pass or navigate a tricky situation."

"I've owned many cars in my 63 years, but this is by far the best care I've ever owned. The twin turbo is outstanding and gives you the best power possible in a six. The retractable hardtop is easy and fun to use but their are some small rattles associated with it. I would recommend this car to anyone wanting a fun 4 seater that gives you the performance you crave. My son borrowed the car for 3 weeks and then went out and bought his own 3 series BMW"

"When BMW came up with the campaign of providing their drivers the ULTIMATE DRIVING MACHINE. They were on something. It is not until you get into one and actually drive it, you will then realized they were not kidding around. There are minor dislikes but I think those are more personal preferences so I am not going to list them."

"Bought the car used 3 months ago. Montego Blue convertible. Turns a lot of heads, and incredibly fast. 80 mph in a deep breath. 100 mph by the time you look back at the road. Careful with this one. Handling is a blast. Take the car out at lunch, and go find some empty curves, highway ramps, or cloverleafs. acceleration in curves is awesome. Highway MPG is 30 at 74 MPH. I did have a problem with the problematic fuel pump, however; I noticed the early symptoms (longish start times) and got it in before it failed. BMW has doubled the warranty on this. The bottom seat cushion bolsters are a little hard, but did I mention that this car is a head turner? Everyone should get to experience a car like this, at least once in their life."

"I leased my 335IX almost three years ago after owning BMWs for 25 years. My experience with this car has led me to conclude that it is the worst automotive and financial decision of my life. The car looks great and is fun to drive. The interior is comfortable and it has all of the bells and whistles. However, the low profile wheels on the sport package are a disaster for rough roads like the ones that we have in the NY tri-state area. I've gone thru 5 wheel rims (at $600/ea) and several high performance tires (at $250/ea; internet price). The $700 wheel rim insurance that I bought only paid for 2 new rims as the policy requires that the rims be damaged to the point of not being able to drive the car before the insurer will pay. The car only takes super premium, detergent gasoline. I have experienced a number of small problems that are very expensive to fix as the car is now beyond its 50,000 mile warranty. The car would be great if I lived in southern California or Florida where the road conditions are a bit more benign. The very high cost of acquisition (or lease) and maintenance have convinced me that this is a poor value for the money in comparison with several of the new Japanese or Korean cars that have impressive handling characteristics and lower acquisition and ownership costs. So long BMW!"

"I am surprised cars.com is not aware of the re-call on the high pressure fuel pumps on this car. I loved the car for a good 6 months, it really picked up quick, yet soon after putt-putt, game over. I had to take in in so many times, BMW bought it back. I had this go on for two years 3 months =( I think they have fixxed this on 2010 & up, so don't count them out....... I loved my BMW's in the past, yet I have now moved on to a Lexus. and OMG........ what a difference."

"This is my dream car! Its fully loaded and is blk on blk. Love the drive, its smooth, fast, and makes me feel like a million bucks! When you take off, you can hear the engine kicking butt and feel the rush as you pass all the cars. One of the greatest features is the iPod that connects to the navigation. It makes it a lot easier to change songs, instead of holding your iPod and risk getting a ticket. It has bucket seats, which adds to the sporty car feel. The best feature that stands out is the exterior. It looks as if it lowered and is sliding down the street. Love love this car!"
