  • Fun to drive but reliability questionable

I purchased the vehicle certified preowned with 48,000 miles on it. Soon after purchasing I experienced a three month spurt of reliability issues where the car went in and out of the shop. Here are the problems experienced oil leak from gasket, fuel injector failed, alternator pulley and belt were making a shining noise, battery, software issue (required towing). Then after all of this was fixed I went 10,000 without issues. The last problem experienced was an AC condenser leak where hot air blew from vents. This was replaced under warranty. So with all of that I do enjoy driving the car as it's as close you'll get to luxury and performance in one category. I'm 6'9" and fit perfectly in the car.

  • One of the nicest cars I have ever owned!

I have owned over 50 cars in my lifetime. This BMW tops them all. I had a 2011 535i xdrive before this one. It also was a great car. This one is longer and has more SNOB appeal. Ive also had a Mercedes 500sl convertible. that runs a close third. This 7-series has wonderful power. The feel of the steering wheel is amazing in your hands. Hit the gas pedal and go. Ive ridden in the back seat and it feels like a limo even with the shorter version like mine. I am sure the L (long) version is even nicer! I just really like the proportions on the regular version. I also usually am driving it by myself. The car draws lots of attention due to its styling. I catch myself looking at other 7-series going by and have to remind myself I own one. Ive let my girlfriend drive it and she said she is treated differently when she pulls up versus when she arrives in her Acura RDX which is actually 2 years newer! Ok... I guess I just love this car for the status.... but I don't think thats so wrong. Nothing has broken on the car and well.....I can afford it! :)

  • very nice car

A new iDrive touchpad controller allows owners to write out navigation and phone inputs. The Dynamic Digital Instrument Cluster, which adjusts the instrument panel according to the Driving Dynamics Control settings, is now standard on all models except the ActiveHybrid 740Li and the Alpina. BMW revised the Executive Package and the Driver Assistance Plus Package, which now includes pedestrian warning and approach control warning.

  • Luxury and Tech on wheels

Looked at the Jaguar XL and Mercedes E and CLS, but this was an easy winner since the technology and conveniences were so much better. Big car to get used to, but very happy with the purchase so far.

  • 2014 7 series

The new 7 series is a great looking car.I chose the 740 in that I live in the city and I liked the drive and the fuel economy. The cars is light and nimble which is incredible given its size. The interior finishes are top notch especially if you upgrade to the nappa leather which is very soft. The seats are incredible with numerous adjustments .The executive package although a bit pricey is worth the money and the heads up display not only shows you the speed you are traveling AND the speed limit ,it also integrates with the navigation system to show on the windshield the route where to turn in advance and how far it is until you need to turn. Its fun to adjust the drive from comfort to sport depending on where you are. BMW bought Rolls Royce and particularly with interior upgrades you can see the quality.
