"i bought the fully loaded. I like the car but there are too many negatives for me to endorse it. The GOOD: Very fun to drive. Handles great. Turns, hills, all easy Good mileage. I get about 26 highway, 19 city Full coverage for maintenance for 4 years. Great big sunroof Great controls on steering wheel Excellent tech package for connectivity to iphone Great rear view camera Nice rain sensors Decent amount of space in rear Good dealership service Some really nice tech advances Nice interior styling Negatives KEYLESS ENTRY: Can't just touch the door and open it, have to use key to open. GAS: Premium only NOISE: Not too quiet inside. I hear a lot of wind. LEGROOM: There isn't enough leg room for me in the driver's seat at 39 inches STOPS: Jerky stopping for fuel saving. This can be turned off but if you know you are saving fuel you want to keep it on. However, it takes a lot of getting used to. And when it is in idle and the engine disengages, you can start quickly and the steering wheel locks. It is a bit scary. NAVIGATION SYSTEM: So confusing! and the voice activation system only gets my commands about half the time PEDALS: The pedals are too close together for me. I often hit the brake on the way to the accelerator STORAGE: Not much storage space in the front cabin. No real deep center storage area. Very small and the iphone cradle takes up most of the space. CHANGE compartment has a seam in it, where coins get stuck and it won't close. REAR TAILGATE: can open automatically, but can't close remotely LOCKING: confusing"

"First I love this car. The actual usable room is a bit disappointing both in the rear and up front. My big problem is,the run flats! On a recent Saturday afternoon I had a flat (350) miles on the car. I was 75 miles out of town.I called into the BMW SOS service. They gave me the name of a dealer 6 miles away. They didn't know if they were open! ( are you kidding me BMW). I called but the BMW Service was closed and no one there could change a tire.(assuming they had the right one)..So,that fix would have had me at a dealer that wouldn't be open until Monday morning. So I headed home on the run flat and made it to our local dealer ( just before they closed ). Well then really bad news they had NO TIRE in stock ...what is happening here....After a discussion with the manager They agreed to remove a tire off one of the X3's sitting on the lot.(my idea) One tire- $450!!! So now I don't want to plan any trips for weekends or nighttime if you have a flat more then liklely you will be stuck somewhere for not hours but DAYS! If I wasn't leasing I would replace the tires and get a spare."

"1) Major transmission design flaw - if you break down and/or lose battery power, there is no way to put the car in neutral in order to tow it. A specialized procedure is required - lift the car, remove protective plate, screw in a bolt to release the transmission. Good luck having the tow guy do this for you. Also if you are being towed by anything than a flatbed with transmission put in neutral prior to loading on the truck (for parking violations for example), the transmission will be blown. 2) An even more elaborate procedure to manually release the electromagnetic emergency brake in case of power loss. 3) The infamous electric steering rack and window trap failures. The infamous tailgate and sunroof rattles and squeaks. 4) No dipstick!!! If the oil sensor fails - a costly repair. The sensor only tells you to top off oil when it falls below a certain level - no actual volume is given. 5) Very uncommon wheel size means very expensive (Runflat!) tires and very few tire choices. Obviously, no provision for a spare. 6) 2011/12 models have a hesitation from the start problem that is fixed by upgrading the software in the car. Unfortunately the upgrade takes hours. 7) German brands are generally known to be less reliable than Japanese due to overengineering, etc."

"Have read a lot of reviews on BMWs but never drove one. Took the X3 35i for a drive and knew I needed this vehicle . It's a sports car with a "backpack" is a good way to sum up what BMWs latest design is on the X3. Excelleration is smooth and handling corners is a breeze. Push the Sport Mode and it doubles the fun. So if you are looking for an AWD sports car that has the ability to haul things, this is the one for you."

"We have owned BMWs going back to the 2002. Have owned usually the 3 and 5 series and most recently a 2006 X3. This new 2013 X3 is extremely refined compared to the 2006. The differences are very noticeable. It's still a BMW in terms of handling & performance, but the ride is extremely smooth and the wind noise (particularly with the sunscreen open and the sunroof closed) is radically reduced. The around town mileage has been 25-26 and highway runs 27-28. All in all, a big step ahead from the original X3. An outstanding vehicle in every way so far!"

"Gives really Good Millage, I got 28 on Highway. Very rough ride, maybe because of Run Flat tire but you can feel even small holes on road. Super interior, very low noise, easy to use interface, GPS do not speak street name that is kind of surprise for that expensive car. Very small trunk, i can hardly fit my kids 16" bike there, love the big roof and backup camera, ordinary audio system. Please go for Adaptive xenon head light, its superb! i can live with all other things that i dont like much but i really hates the ride quality, its really not very comfy..BMW must do something about it"
