"Found the car on cars.com and flew to Florida from Pa. The dealer had everything ready at arrival so the wife and I took a mini vacation from Florida to Pa. It was a true joy. The BMW was more than I had hoped for. I-95 and various roundabouts for food and fuel got us home after 26 hours of driving, comfortable driving. The 3.0 liter engine with the 18 inch wheels averaged 35 mpg for the trip. After 7,000 miles from pickup I am averaging 27.3 with in town and highway. The BMW manual does state that you should take it to the dealer for oil changes, tire rotation and basic maintenance. It is now out of the intial warranty and I have found it is the usual BMW engineering quality making basic maintenance a dream. i.e. Our first oil change was great:) The manual said take it to the dealer, but after finding the access plate in the center of the skid pads and the oil plug right there, the oil was changed. Tire rotation was another dealer item in the owners manual. I do reccommend using a torque wrench when retorqing the lug nuts but quick and easy access to mechanicals seems to be BMW's game. For performance the rating I found was 0-60 in 6.4 secs. I am assuming that's pulling a boat up a hill. It's a quick little roadster with 225 hp and 3750 lbs. The only truly dismaying thing I found was no spare tire."

"What a car!! The exterior design and the interior blend aesthetics with basic functionality quite well, making it a awesome looking vehicle from any angle. Handling is the best feature, take a curvy road, press the Sport button and let it do its business. It will reward you with a sporty and pleasant ride, making you look like a better driver in the process. If it only had some space for my Blackberry other than my lap :("

"After two brushes with death on a motorcycle, we decided to add air bags - and found this 4-year-old beauty with a mere 16,400 of never-been-snowed-on Michigan miles. Having always wanted a convertible and having admired the engineering and performance of BMW from afar for years, this was a dream come true. While not a dragstrip rocket, the 225 HP is rewarding; and the transmission is unbelievably smooth and predictable. The top goes up/down extremely fast. The sound system is unbelievable! Just how they cram in 10 speakers for a two-seater is awsome! The thing is a work of art. I've put 3,000 miles on it in 2 months; and plan on taking it with us to FL this winter. We get 26 MPG on cruises and about town; and managed 30.1 on the last day trip (no AC; top down going; top up returning; 300+ miles). My goal is to have a Historic Plate on her - which will make the driver 81. I cut my teeth in Chevys on Telegraph in the 60's; two of our other 3 vehices are German-engineered; and this is the closest thing to nirvana for me. 'Love it!"

"Love the design. Like no other. Used is the best way to go with low mileage. Otherwise too expensive for most. Haven't put that many miles on it but those that I have have been most enjoyable. Great performance and handling. Not easy to get in to/out of unless the top is down. Much easier then. Run flat tires tend to want to follow rut in the road. Will be changing them out when they reach their life expectancy. But overall, I would recommend this vehicle. Had a Harley but wanted something more comfortable and really meant for two. This one does it all."
