Consumer Reviews
"Owned '92, '93 and '95. With the exception of a very loose feel on the '92, this is the all-around best car I have owned. Comfort is extaordinary, best ride every. Mileage at 25-26 highway between Kalamazoo and Grand Rapids at 65 mph. Plenty of towing power on the small v-8's for smaller RV's. All three felt better with addition of 'cargo coils' on the back...raised the unit about two inches, better feel and response. Plenty of power with the 4.3,4.2, no need for the 5.7. Power seats are tops!!!"

"Simply the most bang for the buck. Reliable as the day is long. The once controversial styling is now coppied throughout the industry. This car is about real capability and reliability that is tough enough for police and taxi service. This car is easy to get in and out of and has a real trunk. I am always being asked by complete strangers to sell them my car."

"I'm on my 4th Caprice and looking to buy another low mileage Caprice to sit on. My Car is a '96 with 34K, LT1 350 with the 9C1 Police package. The car handles great for a full size car, goes like stink and get's 26 mpg. It's a very comfortable car to drive and does good in the snow and ice. As far as reliabilty goes, I've had the usual fuel pump problem, minor oil leak and rear window track problem. I've had the same problems with all my Caprices I've owned. I've been lucky and not had any gauge or digital speedo problems which are common on high mileage Caprices. Don't bother buying the Caprice with the smaller 4.3 liter V8. I've seen motor issues on higher mileage cars. The motors look the same and the only way to tell the difference is by the VIN plate. The 8th number should be a "P" for the LT1 and "W" for the 4.3 liter V8. You can't go wrong with the right Caprice, comfort, speed and good gas mileage if driven right."

"I only owned this car for a month and it only had 100000 miles on it. then the problems occurred. Fuel pump failed, digital speedometer quit working, fuel gauge quit working, blower motor quit working, brake lights had a wiring problem so they quit working, alternator failed, brakes went out, power seats, windows and door locks quit working, and the motor threw a rod. almost nothing on this car worked right. stay away"

"This car leaves little to be desired when you give er, with its 5.7L V8, its like having the camaro without the camaro price tag, I have a sports suspension, and when my friends who own camaro's drive my car they cant tell the difference in perfomance from thiers to mine. Awsome car lasts a long time but like with any car if you abuse it and floor it constantly problems are sure to follow a mature driver, most certainly this car can be a car that will last you many years"
