"I've been drivin my '04 cavalier for over 23K miles and it has been great. My fuel economy average for those 23k miles driven in Michigan between 01/16/2009 and 07/17/2010 is 33 MPG. My most efficient tank of gas was 40 MPG. It has also been great on reliability. During those 18 months I have only put regular maintenance into it(oil change every 5k, tire rotation every 6-7k, and I had to replace the front brakes once) No repairs!"

"I bought my car new, and I have never had any issues. I replaced the brakes 2 times now and that is great considering I just hit the 100,000 mile marker. The only thing that I am not too happy about is the black paint is fading off and I now have patches of metal."

"This is a great car if all you need is something to get you from where you are to where you need/want to be. Very good gas mileage. I get 25 mpg city and 33 mpg highway (compared to my previous car getting 25 mpg highway and 18 mpg city, this is a very good improvement). The heater in the winter and A/C in summer are great. The seats are not the most comfortable on longer trips. The cup holders are not that great. I wouldn't call this a fun or thrilling car to drive, but if all you need is some reliable means to get around, this is an excellent car."

"This was the very first car I bought for myself & I had brake problems from the get go. I had to get my rotors turned 3 times before it even hit 30,000 miles & I'm not hard on the brakes. Then I would drive & the RPM would go up but the car would not move. I also had to sit on a pillow because I couldn't see over the dash. One positive thing is that it does pretty well in the rain & snow. I ended up trading it in for a subaru impreza & I am glad I did."

"This was the first car I purchased on my own, and I was very pleased with it. Great on fuel economy, with more power and acceleration than other small cars I've driven (Toyota Corolla, Dodge Neon). My only complaint is that the low seat position sometimes limited my view. Because it has a lower resale value than its competitors, I got it as a certified pre-owned at a steal, and by 78000 miles, had only replaced brake pads and rear drums (at about 77000) and bought tires. Had it not been totalled in an accident, I would have driven this car for a few more years."

"I got this car new, I'm in the Military so i travel a lot. I have put over 170,000 Km on it in 3 years and it still runs great. I have changed the brakes, Put in a new Battery and kept up on the oil changes. Nothing has gone wrong with it yet. For a good car for the price, I would highly recommend the 2004 Cavalier."

"I'm very pleased with the 04 Cavalier. After 75,000 miles, all I've done is replace the brake pads and buy new tires. The engine responds quickly on the interstate, it's easy to handle. Gosh I wish GM didn't dicontinue the Cavalier!"
