"After over 61,000 miles with our Cobalt SS turbo, I can honestly say it has been my favorite car to date. Pros: Turbocharged engine with strong torque band Rigid chassis with excellent suspension 27-32 mpg with 29 mpg average fuel efficiency Comfortable interior featuring Recaro seats Excellent Brembo front brakes Communicative electronically assisted steering Perfect reliability record so far Real trunk with 60/40 folding rear seats Tasteful 18" alloy 10-spoke wheels 10,000 mile service interval PW, PDL, Moon roof, Pioneer stereo for cheap Amazing overall performance for the dollar Cons: No overhead light for rear seat Cheap plastic here and there in interior Engine adversely affected by extreme heat (limits boost after turned off/on on hot days) Expensive tires (sports car gripe) Expensive synthetic oil required Somewhat stiff ride (smooth for a sports car) Restrained exterior styling I purchased this car as a replacement for my wrecked 2006 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution MR. The SS has proven to be a superior car in almost every way. Other than the lack of a light for the rear seat occupants and some of the cheap plastics that have broken off in the interior, there is nothing I would change about the stock car. A truly great drive. For those wanting more performance, I highly recommend getting better tires and an upgrade to the ECU as its direct injected engine and turbocharger are capable of a lot more power than the stock tune. If you can find one in good condition, I would highly recommend it. My girlfriend and I are considering purchasing another so we can each have our own. It's that good of a deal."

"car doesnt handle well on roads when its raining or snowing. cant haul any type of bags as in groceries or shopping bags its to small, seats are uncomfortable, im only 5;3 and my head touches the roof...not good. if you have a child young enough who has to sit in the back...good luck! because that is a nightmare!! doesnt get the gas mileage you think it will so dont be fooled by that."

"I own a 09 Cobalt and it has been the worst vehicle I've ever had. It's uncomfortable, no power, steering wheel to tight, rear spoiler is always in the way, you cant see out clearly. i dont like it and will be trading as soon as i can."

"My daughter loves her little Chevy Cobalt, it's small but roomy inside enough for her and her friends. Very lucky to have found this 2009 car with 29,000 miles on it for a good price too! Visited many car dealerships and they wanted to sell me cars with 80,000 miles for about the same price and I was like "are you crazy or do you think I'm stupid" and I would just leave. Went to my banks repo lot and found this one, I was very happy and the payments come right out of my checking account."

"I bought the car in December of 2010, and I don't regret the purchase whatsoever. It's been very reliable, especially considering the fact that I drive well over 60 miles a day for work everyday. The 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-4 has smooth power delivery, though I'd recommend installing a K&N intake for a boost in power and better sound out of the turbo. The exterior design is awesome, but interior-wise, you can tell Chevy aimed cheap. The seats aren't very comfortable and the fact that there isn't an armrest can be annoying at times. The SS comes with a Pioneer subwoofer in the trunk. It's not very powerful, but it does offer a decent amount of bass. The Cobalt has very decent trunk space. The 5-speed manual transmission isn't as short as I'd like it to be. In fact, it can be really clunky at times. If you're in the market for a less than $20k coupe (or even a sedan) and you've been thinking about cars like the RX-8 or Civic Si, look no further. The Cobalt SS Turbo is the best bang for your buck. We're talking about a turbocharged, 260 hp, 260 ft-lb of torque, ~2900 lb, 5-seater that can average anywhere between 23-26 mpg in the city & over 30 on the highway. Just drop a K&N intake in it and you're set. The car doesn't need too many aftermarket mods in order to be quick. Heck, it's already really quick from the factory!"

"This car is a beauty. Don't take it from me. I used to have an 05' SS but wasn't a good owner to it. The car runs beautiful if you take care of it. This is definitely the car you want if your looking for a sporty look with some of the gas saving features. Thats why I am looking forward to this 09' SS as an upgrade. Take care of the car and the car will take care of you. Simple as that."
