"I recently purchased a used 2011 Cruze LT with 18,000 miles for $16k, and I could not be more pleased after the first 2 weeks. I even managed to find one with the steering wheel controls for the radio. I do not fully understand the wide range of prices for these cars, even taking into account the various trim levels, but I feel like I got an awesome deal. This car is a pleasure to drive, considering the comfort, ride, handling, styling, and the 1.4L turbo is a terrific engine. It's surprisingly spunky and the gas mileage is great, 30.5 mpg combined suburban driving and 41 mpg straight highway cruising at 65 or 70 mph (better than advertised). I own a '05 Corvette, a '07 Navigator, and a '06 Jaguar X-Type ( all nice cars by most standards) and I can still honestly say that I really enjoy driving this car. Chevy nailed it in my opinion! Ignore the few oddballs who have critical comments. My few minor suggestions for improvement are to put the gear indicator light by the shift handle (it shows by the speedo), smooth out the slightly rough shifting at very low speeds, and insulate the engine noise a bit more, but believe me that these issues are nit-picks. If you want a high quality reasonably priced car that gets great gas mileage then my advice is.......go drive a Cruze and you will see why people love them."

"It's a cool looking car. The one I rented had leather interior with all the options. Seemed great at first, but bottomline, this is the most uncomfortable car I've ever been in. The seat design is bad for tall and short people alike, very hard cushioning, cramped. Although, I was able to fit 2 acoustic guitars in hardshell cases, a french horn, a trumpet, a small guitar amp and bags for 3 people in the trunk. The plus side is that I avereaged 36mpg on extended highway trips. The traction control was nice in heavy rain. Ran very smooth and the automatic six speed transmission works really well. I would never buy one or rent one after this 1300 mile trip."

A Superb Automobile

"I bought my Cruze six months ago, and I absolutely love it. I cannot speak any ill of this car. I really don't know where to start. First off, the look of this car sets it apart. The exterior, especially the front grille and headlights are distinct and eexciting. Its new, sharp and has the look of quality. The interior is likewise brilliantly appointed. It is several steps above the interior of previous Chevrolet compacts. It wraps around you, lavishly styled. It does not at all have a feeling of being cheap. As for other amenities, you get a lot for the money. It is the only car in its class that I looked at that offers satellite radio or auto-shift for no extra cost on the base model. The only real qualm I have about the extras is that a car named "Cruze" does not come with standard cruise control. You have to pay $900 extra, and you get Bluetooth along with it. However, it is worth the money. And finally, the performance of the vehicle is excellent. The car has a lot of low-end torque so accelerating is easy. The transmission, though rough for the first month or so, smooths over time. In all, I could drive this car my entire life. It offers more at a lower price than some of the other compacts I considered and looks better than them as well. Chevrolet is back, baby."

"I bought my Chevy Cruze LTZ Thanksgiving weekend in 2010 in Cary, NC. So I have had it for almost 14 months and almost 27,000 miles. Every week, I drive about 183 miles to Richmond, VA to work a 4-day week. My wife and I initially looked at Toyotas and Fords before going to the Chevrolet dealership. I have previously owned a Pontiac Firebird and a GTO, so I was initially not interested in a 4 cylinder, especially one as small as 1.4 liters. But I heard so many good things about the Cruze, I had to try it out. I loved it from the moment I drove it off the lot. And I am still very happy with it. 33 mpg combined at 79 mph (3000 rpm) on interstates and hard city driving. Great acceleration and not one problem with it. I highly recommend it!! Acceleration is great. It is hard to drive it conservatively--it is too much fun to drive. The body and interior styling is great, the trunk is enormous, the front bucket seats are comfortable, and the sun roof is fun to have. Love the turbocharger, although sometimes there is slight turbocharger lag. But when it kicks in, it feels like you are driving a V6. Of course, the 6 speed transmission helps keep up the rpms for acceleration. For new car tires, they seem to be great--almost 27,000 miles. and probably at least another 20,000 to go. Very quite car--makes our Highlander sound like a bus on the highway. Great sound system. Love the OnStar and XM radio. Exellent highspeed cornering--no lean or sway at all! Although it is a problem with all cars that have turbochargers, GM should try to find a way to prevent the initial slight turbocharger lag when flooring it from a standstill or sometimes when hitting passing gear. Front doors could be a little wider for easier access to the front seats. I am 6'2" tall and my head just clears the roof if I sit tall in the seat. GM should find a way to prevent rain water from driping into the trunk when raising the trunk lid after it has rained. The high performance tires are a bit stiff. Would recommend a slightly taller tire to give a slightly smoother ride without taking away from the sporty feel."

"It has all the bells you want, the exhaust has a mellow muscle car like sound, operating the vehicle is a smooth, sport car feel experience. Chevy needs to upgrade the front passager seat which is a stift, uncomfortable chair that makes you feel like you are sitting on the flour no matter how you adjust it, chevy must have cut corners on the seats in this car."

"I love my new Cruze. It replaces a Honda Civic. It rides smoother, gets better gas mileage, its bigger inside, and has much more get up and go than the Civic. It beats the Civic in every way and I never thought I would say that. I used to like my Civic in a big way before the Cruze came along."

"This is my first new car and after driving a fully loaded Grand Prix for years, I was sceptical about looking at a new car because it wouldn't have all the ammenities that I was use to. I bought the Chevy Cruze after going to the lot and finding the color I wanted. I love the exterior. It looks to me like a Malibu but just a little smaller. The trunk space is HUGE! It doesn't look like it is on the outside but when you pop the trunk, people are amazed! The only thing I would change would be the placement of the air vent on the drivers' side. The one on the right side is a little too close to the steering wheel andif you arent careful, the air hits you knuckles and makes your hands cold. Not a big deal but sometimes I forget! As to the complaints about recalls- recalls are normal. I had a '98 Grand Prix and I still was getting small recalls on the car and it was 2010!"

"Great car for price. Fuel economy is great. There have been 2 recalls on this car, so far. One for the transmission and the other for the steering column. I have had the car for 6 months and haven't had any issues, other than the recalls."
