"I bought a new LS and had it for exaclty one year. During that time I drove it slightly less than 30,000 miles. No problems whatsover, other than a factory recall that was done while the oil was changed. The car was roomy for its size class, exceptionally quiet for a small car, and offered a good ride with excellent handling and braking. Traded it in for a car with a bigger back seat. Only option was Bluetooth. Base LS Cruze comes well equipped. Manual transmission is smooth. Engine has some zip past 3500 rpms. A fun car to drive. Best quality GM compact car I have ever driven. Miss driving it."

Cruze is Hard to Beat

"Last summer, my trusty Alero finally gave up the ghost, so I had to get a new car. I was really wanting to go with a hybrid for my next car, but when I saw that the Cruze, had a relatively high mpg rating, I checked into it. I looked at other cars, but kept coming back to the Cruze because it was such a classy looking car, seemed solid through and through, had amazing trunk space, and did get great gas mileage. When I first went to visit my parents 160 miles away I was amazed that I could make one and a half round trips before getting gas. The sound system is awesome and the Bluetooth sync to my phone is extremely nice to have. The other thing I like about the Cruze that sold me vis'a'vis the Malibu or many of the other new cars out there around that size is that the side windows are more like I'm used to. The Dodge Avenger, and to a lesser extent the Malibu almost makes me claustrophobic because the side windows are not tall enough. Even though the Cruze is a smaller car, it felt bigger. After 14,000 miles (already) I can honestly say that I am very happy with the purchase. The Cruze may not be for everybody, but I have been looking for a car for my daughter to drive, now that her 2002 Honda Civic has seen its better days, and frankly, I can't find a better one. She wants mine....and I can't say as I blame her!. ."

"Numerous trips to the dealer to fix high pitched noise. After doing research found out a common problem is not enough glue on the windshield. After convincing them to remove and re-seal windshield, noise went away. I know a friend who has the antifreeze smell and cruze been in the shop for weeks. Gas mileage not as advertized. Same GM junk! Save yourself money and headaches buy a Toyota or Honda."

"This car has consistantly done more than expected in terms of MPG, comfort & convieniences, performance in snow & ice over Teton Pass and overall appeal. Better then my 2012 CIVIC!

"Overall rating of my 2012 Cruze 1LT is VERY GOOD. For Comfort, the front seats are a bit hard at first, but soften after the first 1000 miles or so. Noise level inside is nonexistant! It is as quiet at 20mph as it is at 80mph. Performance is good for what it is. i have the 6 speed manual. i am able to downshift to get more power from the 138hp. engine. It is not quick, but very efficient!! Cornering is better then expected. Smooth comfortable ride. Drove the 6 speed automatic, Transmission seemed quirky. GO FOR THE MANUAL PEOPLE!! Don't be so LAZY! Exterior styling is good. Interior Design is very good except for the awkward placement of the front cupholders. Pleanty of storage otherwise. Value for the money? everyone wants to pay less. I purchased a new 2012 model at the end of the year with a manual transmission that was deeply discounted. twenty thousand six hundred msrp. I paid sixteen thousand six hundred or four thousand off sticker. not bad. Reliability is yet to be seen. under 2000 miles so far. Not to bash a car, my 2012 Civic was in the shop 4 times in the first 1200 miles. It is better then my 2012 CIVIC!! Yes i sold my HONDA CIVIC. I could not wait to get rid of it!!"

"Great overall car. I have the ECO model with the 6 speed MT. Average gas mileage is between 36-39 mpg. Had two fill ups at 43+ due to all highway miles at 55 mph. Car is very spacious for its class, I'm 6'2" 210 lbs and I find the driver's seat to be comfortable yet properly bolstered. Controls are easy to reach and well planned out. Steering is crisp yet not touchy. Brakes are somewhat squishy at times. Exterior styling is simple yet refined with the new Chevy grill as a focal point. Trunk space is beyond what you'd expect, easily fits two hockey bags with room to spare. Pros: Great MPG, spacious for class, well made interior, turbo gives a great boost/acceleration, does well in MN winters. Cons: Brakes are soft, no spare (only an inflator), ECO model pushes $20K."
