"The Equinox is a solid vehicle with good handling, reliable performance and decent fuel economy. While the space behind the back seat is not large, it is adequate. The passenger seating space is much better than average. The controls are well positioned. Routine maintenance is not a hassle. It does take a little while to get used to the blind spots but the rear-view camera helps when backing-up."

"My husband and I just bought are 2011 Chevy Equinox and I am in love with it. We got a good deal for our money and it only has 14,000 miles. I really like all the great gadgets and it was one of the main reasons why I wanted it. I really like that you can bluetooth your phone and use the steering wheels to answer and hang up calls. I like the onstar and the phone minutes. I really enjoy that the back seat can be adjusted as well. I think that is a great feature for someone that has kids because you can move them up closer to you if need be. The comfort level is great. I like sitting up a little higher than a normal care. The exterior is amazing and I get many compliments on it everyday. I also like the back up cam and the remote start. This car has so much to offer a young small family like us and we are just in awe by it... I dont think that the estimated mileage is quite correct I am averaging about 26 on the highway doing about 70 no more... It has good power and gets up and goes... Great buy.. I would highly reccomend:)"

"Have had mine for one month and 2700 miles. The heater is very slow to warm up for a new car, my '06 Ford Explorer was much quicker. Seats are great, not too many blind spots and very comfortable ride. I have the 4 cylinder and it really has good power for such a small engine. I have averaged 26.8 mpg so far and that is mostly highway mileage at 70 mph. Will write another updated review at 5-10K and see if I have made a bad mistake buying a bow tie!"

"I love my Equinox i had it for 4 months now so we drove about 530 miles and my sister drove the car last week and said can i have have it i had to say no because i love my Equinox and i think everyone can love the car to like my family and the sleek exterior is fabulaus and smooth i love the interior is fabulaus to i love how the rear seats slide back in the cr-v it does that to but we are talking about the fabulaus Equinox here and it is a smooth ride in the backseat and in the frontseat but there is one problem in the backseat with me the seats don't fold completely flat and i have the LTZ and the hatch can go to two 2 different postions there is full and there is garage i am glad i have the LTZ with that kind of hatch like that because my Equinox is parked in the garage when i have my grocery's in the trunk so i have to have the trunk on garage so this is the best Equinox in the U.S.A."

"I love my Equinox. I've had it for right at 6 months, and have taken it on vacation already. We drove about 500 miles with 4 people and a week's worth of luggage. It was comfortable, even for my 6'3" brother-in-law. It isn't too loud, even when accelerating, and the ride is so smooth. My brother drove it last week and told me that it was such a smooth ride, he didn't even realize he was going 75 mph in a 55mph zone. The back-up camera is a great feature to have. So far, we have had absolutely no problems with this vehicle. We love that the backseat moves for more space. There are only a couple of real complaints I have. The first is that the backseat doesn't fold completely flat. That's not a huge deal for me, but I know for some people it is. The second is the interior color choice. I didn't really have a choice with the black interior, and while again, it isn't a huge deal, I can't really let my dog get in the car, I have to take our other car, because the black looks really gross with dog hair all over it. The gas mileage is pretty good. On our vacation this summer, we got around 30mpg. Most of the time around town, I can get about 23-26mpg. I'm really happy with that, since it is an SUV. I love the cloth seats with the mesh. When you spill something, it doesn't start soaking in immediately, you have plenty of time to dry it, and it really is comfortable."

"Very decent vehicle. I drive a lot, Traveling salesman. So the car looks great and the interior is just as good looking. This car has plenty of power(v6) but I'm not crazy about the transmission. The car jerks in and out of gears. I bet the trans will be a problem with this car. Interior dasd goes dim all by it's self. The infotainment center looks and is great for the most part. The bad is that is seems to really act weired when hooked up to iphone. No matter what my ipod kick in even when I don't want it to, the volume goes up and down on it's own and now my phone is acting weird, very slow or even freezes. Over all the car is nice. But just the fact that it's new makes it nice. I just hope I don't have high dollar problems like electrical or trans."

Should be better

"Have the base model and it is not bad on the equipment level-alloys, air con and cruise control-looks pretty but has some major annoying faults/design issues. The car is not comfortable. I am 6' 3" and whilst I fit in the car easily enough the seat is major league uncomfortable. I have done 50k miles since Sept 2010 and it has never felt right from the start and now gives me back ache-I have to use a padded seat back to be able to drive it at all. My wife will usually sleep whilst I drive but she cannot get comfortable in the passenger seat in this vehicle. The dash air vents are rubbish-poorly positioned and no good at cooling the whole car-to get enough air to the back seat you freeze in the front. The gearbox is poor-whilst changing up at slow acceleration sometimes the gear drops in with a clunk and jerk like it's about to break the 'box. I also suffer from engine stuttering whilst feathering the throttle in traffic-the delaer can't find this problem (of course) but it's there. I have had this problem on another car (Ford) and never resolved the issue either-using a better grade of fuel may help but then will cost more to run Gas mileage is nowhere near the stated 32mpg. I average 23-24 overall-the Eco button doesn't make much difference to that so I don't use it. Engine can sound like a tractor engine at start up and idle. On the plus side, it's roomy inside, especially for cargo with the rear bench seat pushed forward, nice to drive, suspension is comfy and the acceleration is acceptable. Service intervals are good-around 16k miles and it looks good. Wouldn't have another one though-looking to trade up to new Dodge Durrango after reading the reviews on here."
