Consumer Reviews
"Had a Honda CRV that I HATED. This car is a million light years beyond it and more than corrects Honda's mistakes. Great mileage (4 cyl), styling, comfort.. can't say enough. Mine is a 2LT model with leather. Best small SUV for the money."

"Purchased a used (only 8093 miles) LT, 4 cylinder engine. Gas mileage is nothing near 30 mpg on the highway. I get about 27 is I stay at 70 mph, still pretty good. The transmission is always shifting - makes me wonder how long it will last. The 4 cyl engine is barely enough for a vehicle this size - if you purchase one I recommend getting the V-6. What do I like about it? Everything else. Lots of room, stylish, overall a good car but the trans leaves me wondering how long before it goes."

"I have a 2012 Equinox LT-gas mileage is sorely liking! 24 city 26 highway! 4-cy is powerless! Don't try to speed up, lost of power is huge factor. Very unhappy!!!!!!"

"I am finding the MPG ratings to be way off. I have never even come close to the 33 MPG highway, and am averaging 21 MPG in combined city/highway driving. My driving habits are such that I try to conserve gas, but it does not seem to make a difference."

"2012 - nice comfortable, don't like the fact the trans is always shifting and sluggish. The best I can get on the mileage is 26.4, so not near what I was expecting and I do mostly hightway driving. Nice design, some issues with the ergonmics."

"My 2012 Equinox had 650 miles on it when I took 2300 mile trip. The trip covered speed ranges from 45 mph (construction zone) to a little over 72 mph. At 60 I got 30.3 mpg. At 65 I got 29.9 and at 72 I got 29.5 all with cruze control. The worst 25.6 (heavy cross wind to 31.9 running flat no wind @ 70 mph. Beware of drivers that get well over the above listed driving ranges. Love the car performed well and good looking LTZ."

"We have only had the truck about a month but seems to drive nice and look stylish, my only complaint so far is gas mileage. We are not getting any where near the expected gas mileage that would make this a ultimate vehicle"

"MPG to/from work with this AWD with my commute 25% stop/go traffic is 26-27 mpg but on longer trips up to 50+ miles got > 31 mpg!! can't wait to see what we get when we drive across country in near future! Good storage in back. able to fit 3 adults in back seat comfortably but middle person height does interfere with rear view mirror. Would DEFINITELY buy again!!"

"My wife and I purchased a 2012 Chevrolet Equinox LTZ about 2 months ago. We priced and test drove a lot of vehicles before coming to a final decision. The models we considered were the Ford Escape, Ford Edge, Ford Explorer, GMC Terrain, GMC Acadia, Buick Enclave, Mazda CX5, Mazda CX9, Dodge Journey, and Chevrolet Traverse. The Equinox by far and away had the best value for all of the features that we wanted. We were also extremely pleased with the looks of the exterior styling and the interior design. Out of all of the vehicles we drove, the Ford Edge was the only one we enjoyed driving better; however, with the same features it would have been 8-10k more and not much bigger. My wife and I love this vehicle and are very happy with the purchase. We were also impressed with the ability to get just about every feature that you can get on a vehicle with the price that we paid. The only complaint that we have is the fact that the vehicle is not achieving the fuel mileage that is suggested. We were told that the vehicle needs time to adjust to your driving style before maximum fuel economy can be acheived; however, I don't think it is going to reach the advertised mileage. With that said I would recommend this vehicle."

"I've been driving for 30+ years and this is the worst vehilce I've ever owned. Bought a 2012 (used), 4 cyc. It's a slug. Very slow and hesitant take off and a complete dog on the hills. Constant shifting up and down is beyond annoying. Had it 3 months and trying to trade it in."
