"I bought this car used over a year ago with 93,000 miles on it. I'm currently a few miles away from 100,000 and so far so good. I have never had a problem with it and it is the most comfortable car i have ever driven. I have taken this car to Baltimore with no problems. The only issue is the occasional low gas mileage around 17mpg but that is expected in a car this size. I love this car."

"I love it, it rides smooth as a baby's bottom. It is also reliable. I drove from Baltimore to Cincy and I commute to and from campus. Still runs good with 84k."

"This is my first car! Bought it at a Chevy dealer used with 30k miles & now it has 92k. They had all the records for it & the car only drove in for oil change, tires & other maintenance. It's a great vehicle. If you take care of it like you should it'll run forever. The only issue I have encountered is having to replace the starter. Other than that I've driven to Miami & back & never any engine light on or leaks of any sort. The car has just been great! I do recommend this car! Take care of it & it will take care of you! I am Kevo & I Approve this message!"

"After being a loyal satisfied GM fan for many years, my 2006 Chevy Impala has been very problematic in the later years and will probably my last Chevy. Exhaust issues, water pump failure and shoty workmanship with door latches and windows, etc., reminds me of the poor quality we experienced in the 70's and 80's in the American auto industry. My advice to those who own an Impala is to run them 3 - 4 years and no more than 75000 miles."

Comfortable, well-equipped large sedan

"About 50 years ago my first three cars were Chevys. Then over the next 45 years or so I only had two other Chevys, a Vette and a Monte Carlo. I am now older and retired. My wife and I wanted a large, comfortable, well-equipped car that could hold 4 adults and related luggage for long trips. After considering both the Caddy DTS and Chrysler 300 we decided that the Chevy Impala LTZ with the 3.9L V-6 was the best value for the money. It is a Chevy Equipped like a Caddy. All the bells and whistles from the MP3 jack, to the heated leather seats; to the trip computer to the power sunroof it has it all. The V-6 performance compares favorably to the last V-8 I owned with much improved fuel economy. We were lucky enough to find a beautiful silver one-owner with a bone interior with less than 35K miles. We have already made a couple of trips in it and we love it. PS. I gave it an excellent reliability score but we haven't owned it long enough to know."

"I'm gen.mtrs.retired after 21 years as a product specialist.My2006 Impala LTZ is plauged with product defects. The gen.mtrs. service rep. refuses to ackn owleged any defects. This is the reason I'm so pleased with my 2007 Toyota Tacoma. Good luck to all you satisfied G.M. owners. ."

"This is a sequel to my first review. The Impala now has 160,000 miles on it, and is still performing well. The repairs needed so far: throttle body control, a new battery at the 150K mile mark when it started having trouble starting on hot days, headlight replacements, and a refill of the AC. Otherwise the costs have been just scheduled service and tires. I haven't had to do any brake work yet (mostly highway miles with little braking). The exterior condition is pretty good. A little rust is happening on the rear of the trunk cover, but this is Green Bay WI so that is not bad for 6 years of harsh winter driving. Overall, the most miles I've ever put on a car, and the most reliable car I have ever owned (5 Chevys, 1 Pontiac, 1 Ford, 1 Nissan)."
