"My husband bought this truck in 2000, having owned an older model before that. We used it for everything for the first 7 years we had it. It was cheap to keep and cheap to run, and the interior styling and transmission were more like a car's. Then he passed, and now I use it as a utility vehicle - dump runs, taking the dogs out for fun, and for everything when my main car is not usable for whatever reason. Have spent little money on repairs, just ordinary maintenance. It gets about 22 mph city, 30 or more hwy. I don't use it for road trips because the ride isn't particularly conmfortable. However no way would I sell it as long as it runs."

"basically a good vehicle. not fast. less than average amount of power especially in the higher elevations. reasonably good fuel economy. falls apart slowly, 3rd door handle broke twice, seats are not awesome, since 98 replaced alternator, exhaust system with catalytic converter, oil leak repaired and with 167,000 miles it still seems to be doing well."

It halles more then you think it will in the bed. This truck is just a small car with a bed on it. knowing what it wuz prior to buying it. A'm happy whith what I got for my money. "I BOUGHT IT BECAUSE I HAD $3500 GM DOLLARS AND THEY HAD $3500 DISCOUNT. HOW I WISH TOYOTA HAD A CREDIT CARD WITH THEIR DOLLAR. THE FIRST THING THAT WENT WAS THE WINDSHIELD WASHER. DIDN'T NEED IT THAT MUCH. NEXT, THE WIPERS WOULD STOP WHEN THEY PLEASED OR WOULD ONLY RUN AT MAX. NEXT, THE HANDLE ON THE LUMBAR ADJUST SNAPPED OFF IN MY WIFE'S HAND. THEN THE HOOD LATCH HANDLE SNAPPED OFF OF THE CABLE. THE A/C COMPRESSOR DIED. BUT THE BEST PROBLEM OF ALL IS, WHEN DRIVING AT 70MPH ON THE INTERSTATE, THE ENGINE STOPPED AND WOULDN'T CATCH AGAIN WITHOUT TURNING THE IGNITION COMPLETELY OFF, AND STARTING IT AGAIN. THIS HAS HAPPENED AT LEAST TWENTY TIMES, AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, TEMPERATURES, AND TIMES OF YEAR. OF LESS IMPORTANCE, HAZARDWISE, IS THE CABLES ON THE TAILGATE; THEY BREAK. I HAVE REPLACED THEM WITH GOOD OL' CHAINS AND IT WASN'T EASY. I ALMOST FORGOT THE REASON MY WIFE REALLY DOESN'T LIKE THIS TRUCK: SHE'S 5'4" AND I'M 6' AND THE SEAT ADJUST LIKES TO LET GO WHILE SHE'S DRIVING AND SHOOT TO THE FULL TRAVEL OF THE RAILS. THIS MAKES IT TOUGH TO REACH THE BRAKES IN A HURRY AND IS QUITE STARTLING TO BOTH OF US. WE BRACE THE SEAT FROM BEHIND WITH WHATEVER IS HARDSHELL. ALA IN ALL, I WISH I HAD A TOYOTA. THIS IS THE FIRST NEW VEHICLE I HAVE EVER BOUGHT, AND IT IS THE LAST CHEVY I WILL EVER BUY."
