- Repair & Care
The light-duty Chevrolet Silverado1500 was completely redesigned for 2014 but the heavy-duty Silverado 2500HD and 3500HD variants carry on for 2014; all-new versions will be available as 2015 models. Competitors include heavy-duty trucks from Ram and Ford.
New for 2014
Gas versions now come standard with a 4.10 rear axle ratio that improves off-the-line acceleration and raises the standard towing capacity to 13,000 pounds, which is up 4,500 pounds. Also available is a spray-on bedliner and a bi-fuel version of the 2500HD's 6.0-liter V-8 that can run on gasoline or compressed natural gas.
