"This family business owned Tahoe has been from San Diego to Bangor Maine and I would rate it a 10 for open road travel. comfortably seats 5 enough room for luggage and misc equipment. The tow package has made it possible for us to transport the sleds from wyoming to denver. and the jets ski's to the numerous destinations on the east and west coast. Now with the astronomical fuel costs we reluctantly must part with this babie.. It was a good vehicle and is still ready for the road without question"

"I bought my 99 tahoe in not so driveable condition, it was wrecked in the front and needed everything except the passenger fender. I fixed it myself, have had it on the road about a year now and by far its the best vehicle Ive had. Ive had new, slightly used and very used and I can not find any fault with this tahoe. Its the 2 wheel drive version, everything including leather. Fuel economy is better than what I had expected. Would I drive anything else, no. As long as Chevy makes the Tahoe, its all I'll be driving from now on. Seating os comfortable, everything in the drivers compartment is easy to reach and user friendly. At my age, and weight, its alot easier to exit being all I gotta do is roll to the left..."

"I own a '99 Tahoe and I love this truck. I perviously owned a 1984 and a 1994 K5 Blazer and loved those too. My '99 has 180,000 miles on it and I intend to drive it until the wheels fall off or until Chevy or GMC gets a civil brain in their heads and realize that there is a market for this vehicle. I dread the day when the wheels do fall off - because there is nothing out that that I will want to drive."

"This is our haul the family to camping and vacations vehicle. Bought used with 143K it has only needed maintenance items done. It is big, safe and does great in the snow. We hope to get 200K plus miles out of the 5.3 engine on this big boy. We can carry lots of gear and the factory hitch expands our options with camping. Great family vehicle."

"Very, very, good running vehicle. Love the 350, gets very good gas mileage. The only issue with motor is a misterious ghost leak; the coolant just seams to slowly disappear with no evidence of where its going. A mechanic said its an issue with the Dexcool coolant eating through the intake gaskets. The transmission shifts are terrible, not real smooth, but i have kept it serviced and there are no problems with the transmission. The biggist problem I have is the interior parts are falling apart. Plastic that used for the interior parts such as radio knobs, door handles, power window buttons, etc., just doesn't seem to hold together. The radio lights quit working and the outside door handle broke in two. Also the power door locks don't work right all the time, very eratic. Another issue is the stupid tail light connector plates, biggest plastic junk disign ever! Glad they went back to regular style direct plug in light bulbs to wire harness. Also the doors rattle and don't open and close smoothly. Other than the overall cheap quality of the vehicle, i love the powertrain. It pulls our boat and hauls the family of five great. Just wished it had a 3rd row seat and better, more usful cup holders. I got the truck in 2004, i have got over 215000 miles on it and I am going to maintain it, drive it, and keep it until it falls apart......IT IS PAID FOR! As far as cash for clunkers....they can't have it!! (About 17-21mpg)"

"I've owned this vehilce since 2004, and it is, without a doubt, the best vehicle I have ever owned. Very dependable, comfortable, great acceleration, 23 mpg on the road with the a/c on @ 75 mph. 15/18 mpg around town. The reason for selling? I moved up to a GMC Yukon, I needed a bigger vehicle. New transmission, New A/C, new front brakes, excellent condition, no mechanical problems whatsoever."

"The two Captain Chairs are great the drivers seat moves in all kinds of directions. The back bench seat is ok in comfort but I wish it had two more captain chairs for the rear seats. The lack of the 4 doors is kind of a hinderence and a pain for people or kids to get in the back but the back bench seat allows 3 adults to sit easly. Preformance for the vehicle is good for the size. It will not take off and beat many but the Tahoe has alot more weight so what can you expect. The MPG is horriable only getting 13 to 15 MPG with in town or on the highway driving. My tahoe has a small lift and 33 all terrains which may have something to do with my bad economy. The Tahoe is very reliable and I love it."
