"Tried lots of small SUVs but most of them were not very roomy. The Trailblazer is great for long trips, have had not problems."

"I have owned quite a few SUV's over the years, and this one is my favorite! I LOVE my Trailblazer. The only reason I am considering trading it in is because we need a vehicle with a third row. We have a big dog that needs room in the back for lots of car rides, and we need the extra seating for trips with the kids and grandparents, or kids with friends. Love having 4 wheel drive when I need it. Has been very reliable and served us well. I will miss it!"

"Purchased my 2006 Trailblazer about 3 months ago. The vehicle had about 65,000 and I have put about 8000 on the vehicle since purchase. I get about 16 mpg mixed city driving, and about 21 on the highway. Have not had the chance to try out in snow yet, but with 4wd, should not be an issue. Vehicle has an excellent ride, and have had no issues at all. I was a bit shocked to find out the engine holds 7 quarts of oil!!!!, but having so much oil, it should help the engine last a long time."

Best Car I Have Ever Owned 06 TB SS

"I've owned seven cars in all my years of driving. The '06 TB SS is by far my favorite. I usually trade-in vehicles after two years. I just can't seem to part with the SS. It has every thing a person needs and is very fast!!!! It is also safe. I have two children for our family trips, and the navi, DVD and ample space make the trips a breeze. I have over 100K miles on my TB SS and I have yet to have any problems, just required maintnence needed. I am very upset Chevy no longer makes the Trailblazer. I guess my next car will be the 09 Trailblazer SS. Bottom line, I love these cars!"

SS vs Standard Trailblazer

"Something not mentioned in these review. "A Trailblazer LS/LT IS NOT in the same league as a Trailbazer SS. OK, with that said let me explain. The standard Trailblazer has an inline 6 or the 5.3l V8. It uses the less capable transmission and transfer case as well as a much smaller rear differential. To give you an example, the rear differential in a SS is the same as an H2 Hummer (yep, the big one). The engine is an LS2 (same type as the Corvette Z06) and the trans, a 4L70e, super heavy duty unit. The SS also feature front Corvette brakes and Air suspension. There are many other features that are different from the standard Trailblazer. Comparing an SS to an LS/LT is like trying to compare a smart car to a real car..."

"The passanger space is limited, with small children it's impossible to fit three in the back seat using car seats. I owned mine for almost four years and all I can say is I'm glad to be upgrading."

The worst car I have ever owned

"I have had a 2006 Trailblazer LT with the 5.3 V8 for about 3 years now. We bought the vehicle Certified, with about 20,000 miles on it. We now have 85,000 miles on it and it has been in the dealer about twice a month for repairs. The gas mileage is worse than a Tahoe or Suburban with the same engine and it has no more power than the inline 6 engine. I don't know if I can think of an interior piece that has not fallen off of the vehicle. We started with electrical problems roughly 3 weeks after we bought it. 4 different dealers told us that they knew what the problem was but since they couldn't replicate it they could not get GM to authorize the repair. Then we went mechanical. Oil Pump, Fuel Pump, Radiator, Sensors. All of them. Then it was the entire engine at 35,000 miles. Now the vehicle will shut off in the middle of driving up the road. I bought the car for my wife and 2 kids. I cannot have them driving a vehicle up the freeway no knowing if it is going to just quit running! I have owned cars from Ford, Nissan, Infiniti, Saab, Audi and Dodge. I cannot believe how unreliable this one is! The worst money ever spent!"

"PROS: Extremely powerful drivetrain (LS2/4L65); All Wheel Drive; Loaded with Luxury Options: Navigation, Heated Seats, Memory, Rain Sensing Wipers, Integrated Rear Entertainment, Leather/Suede; Highly comfortable & supportive front bucket seats. CONS: Gas Mileage--I get 14mpg around town with a light foot, and as high as 16mpg on highway trips; GM interior materials & quality; Chronic Fuel Gauge issues. 2006 Model doesn't have the 100k GM Warranty like 07+ Models."
