"Love it best for the price, larger size, and safe for my 2 year old. Wanted something safe and big for my little guy."

"The traverse is a smooth ride and handles well, but has a major design flaw. It's very difficult to see out the rear window while backing up because the window is placed too high up. You have to rely on the two side mirrors. I hope Chevrolet will correct this with the 2013 model because, otherwise, it's a nice car."

"The Traverse has been phenomenal for taking my girls to and from school and to their after school practices. The heated and cooled leather seats are extremely comfortable and the ride is extremely smooth. It handles beautifully as if it were a sports car making tight turns and it makes cornering on one lane wooded roads seem effortless. The sound and navigation system are top notch and the car provides so much space and functionality for its price. The design is nice as it deviates from your typical bulky/boxy/cumbersome looking SUV but provides the best leg, head and cargo room of all the SUVs I've test driven."

"I'm the mother of a 2 year old son who's pretty tall for his age. In the past, I've driven a BMW 335I, an AUDI A4, and a Lexus ES350 so this is very different for me. Having a child is definitely life changing. I will do whatever is necessary to make sure my son has a great childhood and a comfortable life. He outgrew the AUDI and was outgrowing the LEXUS. I told my husband I had to get an SUV and before this purchase, I've never driven one before. After searching for close to a year, I thought for sure that I wanted a Toyota Highlander...I've never driven or owned a domestic vehicle. I frequent the motherproof.com website and I relied on it heavily to help me in my decision making for purchasing the safest SUV on the market. Someone told me to take a look at the Chevy Traverse. I did. I compared it to the Toyota Highlander and learned that there was more room in the Traverse, it had the highest safety ratings, and the price was comparable to what I wanted to pay. I have had my 2012 Traverse for about 4 weeks now. I even changed my 4-car color streak from black to White Diamond Metallic! Let me say that I'm delighted with this SUV! My son LOVES being able to watch Thomas the Train on the DVD Entertainment center! I love the power liftgate and the comfortable, smooth ride! I can concur with the reviews that it struggles to get uphill and I think that should be improved on future models but it's not something that makes me dislike driving it or ruins my driving experience. Since I only transport my son and I on a daily basis, the third row is down and makes the cargo space enormous, which is great for his stroller, wagon, groceries, etc. It's good to know the third row is there when we need it. I have the 2LT model which has the BOSE stereo system which is great. I did not want the navagation system but having the onstar download directions makes much more sense to me as I don't have a screen to distract my driving. The bluetooth and IPOD connections are just great! The cloth seats are well made and the heating of the seats is best for me because I never really used the cooling option for the seats in the Lexus anyway. It takes about the same amount of money to fill the Traverse with regular gas as it did to fill up the Lexus with premium gas. The gas mileage is suitable for a vehicle this size and probably better. The Traverse does not look as roomy as it is (it's not a bulky SUV)so if you've never been inside one, it's definitely worth checking out. I have no solid complaints so far, and even though I haven't had it that long, I am VERY happy with my purchase and so is my son!"
