"We've happily owned a PT Cruiser GT for several years are we constantly amazed at it's reliability and versatility. It performs like a V-8 sportscar but sips gas like an econobox; it easily accommodates large passengers and oversized cargo yet parks in the smallest parking spots. It's been rock-solid reliable and a faithful member of our family. It's the Swiss Army Knife of small cars!"

"I got this car for my 16th birthday and was pleased but not real excited. this car has been nothing but problems. A couple of months ago i had a small accident where i hit a mailbox rather than hit a minivan. i wasnt at fault. The car literally fell apart. headlight, hood, finder, bumber, etc. it wasn't a total lose but close. after i had it for 2 years the actual main computer went out. about 4 months ago the engine blew completly. it was a mess. after about $6000 of just mechanical repair the car has problems starting. i think i will ask for a new car for my 18th birthday."

"At 31,000 miles, I have a head gasket leaking and transmission leak from a part. The car is well cared for. I plan on getting rid of it soon."

"I wish this little car didn't have so many problems..I have owned it about a year now and it's been in the shop more than any car I have ever owned. I love to drive it when it's running good but looking to trade it in already. Would never buy another."

"All the utility of a minivan without the fuel costs, and with style. Fold down and removable rear seats provide a tremendous boost in useful space, and the 2.4 liter engine provides an adequate 150 hp, more than enough to get a person to and from work, school, or play."

"This is a pretty good car to have if you do not take long road trips. It handles pretty good, and has not given me any mechanical problems. Mine is up to 35,500 miles. I drive it mostly around town (not much on highway). I prefer the power of a six cylinder engine, but this is sufficient for the size of the car. The Limited Edition has good options, but does not have more powerful engine. If you like sporty looking cars that ride low and handle well, this car may be for you."

"While I was initally happy with my PT Cruiser over time the luster has worn off. The car has generally been reliable, but there are annoying lapses in quality of build and materials. My first set of spark plug wire went bad at 24k miles. The clamps for the transmission cooler went bad at 40k. Now at 48k I'm told I need new front suspention bushings. I've owned a fair number of cars over the years, from junkers on up, and its the first time I can recall having to replace either clamps or bushings. So Chrysler and its local dealer got my money in the short term but based on this history I don't see me keeping it much longer (powertrain warranty expires ar 70k) or looking to replacce it with another D/C product."
