Vehicle Overview
The Sebring is available as a four-door sedan or a two-door convertible with a retractable hardtop or traditional soft-top. Competitors of the sedan include the Honda Accord, Toyota Camry and Ford Fusion, while the convertible goes head-to-head with the Pontiac G6, Volkswagen Eos and Toyota Camry Solara convertibles. Both Sebrings are available in base LX, Touring and Limited trim levels, and also share engine options.

New for 2009
A few luxury interior features are added to the trim levels for 2009, and a power top is no longer standard on the base model convertible.

Exterior
Large C-pillars on the sedan join a stubby trunk. 17-inch steel wheels are standard; seventeen- and 18-inch alloy wheels are optional. At 190.6 inches long, the Sebring sedan is roughly the same length as the Camry, Accord and Fusion. Its height is 59 inches, exceeding all three competitors by more than an inch. The convertible's front end is the same as the sedan's, featuring hood strakes, a grille and headlights reminiscent of the Crossfire roadster. Choosing the convertible over the sedan adds about 400 pounds to the car's curb weight, and the convertible roof stows beneath a hard tonneau cover.
  • Standard 16-inch steel wheels
  • Optional alloy wheels in 17 and 18 inches
  • 18-inch chromed aluminum wheels standard on convertible Limited
  • Convertible can have a soft-top or a retractable hardtop

Interior
Both the Sebring sedan and convertible have a simple cabin that includes three backlit instrument portals, a two-tone dashboard and an analog clock. The sedan's trunk space measures just 13.6 cubic feet. The front passenger seat has an optional fold-flat feature to accommodate longer cargo passed through the 60/40-split folding rear seat. Chrysler says two golf bags can fit in the convertible's trunk when the top is retracted. A windscreen is standard on convertible Limited models; it stands behind the front headrests to help reduce noise and turbulence commonly associated with convertibles. Opting for the Convenience Group Package on the base convertible adds a power top.
  • Leather seats in uplevel models
  • Standard Sirius Satellite Radio
  • Improved acoustic package, which reduces noise levels in cabin
  • Eight-way power-adjustable driver seat standard in Touring and Limited
  • Heated/cooled cupholder and heated seats standard on Limited
  • Premium Audio Group package includes UConnect GPS, an auto-dimming mirror and Boston Acoustics speakers

Under the Hood
A 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine is standard in the base Sebring. A 2.7-liter V-6, which runs on regular or E85 fuel, is optional in the base model and standard on the Sebring Touring and Limited. The Sebring Limited offers an optional 3.5-liter V-6. The 3.5-liter V-6 runs through a six-speed automatic transmission with AutoStick manual shifting; other engines have a four-speed automatic. Both V-6 engines are rated to tow up to 1,000 pounds.
  • 173-horsepower, 2.4-liter four-cylinder with 166 pounds-feet of torque
  • 186-hp, 2.7-liter V-6 with 191 pounds-feet of torque
  • 235-hp, 3.5-liter V-6 with 232 pounds-feet of torque

Safety
Safety features include:
  • Standard four-wheel disc antilock brakes
  • Standard side-impact and side curtain airbags (curtains not standard on convertible)
  • Electronic stability system with traction control standard on Touring and Limited models
