Walser

by from Saint Paul, MN |

I inquired into a car I say online. They emailed and called me back in short order. I went to the dealer where I was met with the same person I spoke with on the phone and couldn't have been more impressed. While the whole process from test to purchase and drive off was long, it was great and appreciated. I would definitely shop and recommend Walser again.

Great Subaru Dealer

by from Burnsville, MN. |

We were asked if we needed assistance when we entered, but were left alone until we said yes we need help. Our salesman, Charlie Leang was very knowledgable and helpful. The Walser no haggle price was really good, and we placed an order for a Legacy 2.5i Premium. Charlie continued to provide us excellent service even after we had purchased the vehicle. I can recommend both Walser Subaru and Charlie Leang to anyone considering purchasing a Subaru.

Best car purchasing experience we've ever had

by from Burnsville, MN |

My wife and I were simply looking for and test driving new vehicles with the anticipation of buying in the next few months. After a few other dealers, I convinced my wife to stop by Burnsville Walser Subaru, and this is where everything changed. We walked around looking at vehicles without being interrupted by multiple sales people (a positive to us), and were welcomed by one of the sales people when we finally walked in the door. Kevin asked us a series of questions to understand what we were looking for, and we told him we were looking at the new Forester. We decided to look at new because the pricing was lower than other vehicles we were looking at used. We test drove a few different Foresters with no wait at all. We let Kevin know our situation and that a purchase would also require a "curb buy" from the dealership of our previous vehicle, which was unfortunately not with us that day. A meeting was scheduled for 11AM two days later, and we parted ways. Upon returning to the dealership the two days later, we walked up to the front building and noticed that the car we were highly intrigued with was already pulled up to the front, washed and detailed, and prepped for us to go. We weren't fully committed to buying yet, but we thought we would discuss the fine details. The curb buy process turned out to be the most efficient car sale WE have ever performed, and allowed us to continue with the new car purchase. We then discussed any additional options we would like to have on the vehicle and the additional costs. Priced everything up, and we were on our way to purchasing a new car. All said and done, the curb buy and new car purchase and signing of documents was ~1.5 hours. This was beyond my expectations for the process at hand. This was also on a Saturday when the place was extremely busy. Going back to the details about the staff: Everyone was extremely professional, well mannered, and seemed to have our best interests in mind. We were also informed that the staff does not operate on commission which complimented how polite and patient everyone was. All people involved were extremely efficient in their roles and explained the pertinent information in full. TL;DR (Too long Didn't Read): Beyond my love for Subaru as it is, Walser provided the best purchasing experience (not just car) we have ever had. The staff was amazing, and the preparation and dedication to efficiency is second to none. They offered 100% attention to myself and family, as well as everyone else within the salesfloor while we were there. I would suggest working with the Walser family (not just Subaru) if you are looking for a new/used vehicle. The difference in customer service alone was amazing.

Worst Car buying experience ever.

by from Mpls, MN |

Salesman was rude and they could negotiate with you on the price of your trade in, and the interest rate on the financing, but when asked questions about small items on their car for sale we were told they do not negotiate. I had certain expectations, none of which they were willing to listen to. So much for their non negotiating sales. The whole experience was frustrating and we left feeling like we had been taken advantage of by the sales and finance people. Would never recommend this dealership. No customer satisfaction what so ever.

We're very sorry to hear of your disappointment at our store. We would never want you to leave feeling like the experience was rude or frustrating. That is so far from what we stand for. We would really like to learn more about this, but because you're name is not on this review we are unable to reach out to you directly. If you're open to it, I really encourage you to call me on my direct line so that we can fix this. Thank you, Jeff Holmquist, General Manager, 952.892.9897

No hand-offs and no hassle!

by from Hastings, MN |

I was looking for a newer used Subaru Outback to save a few thousand dollars. Found just the vehicle on the showroom floor that was an un-advertised dealer demo car. It was just what I wanted. The service was great getting it out of the showroom and onto the road for a test drive. The buying process on a Friday afternoon was agonizingly slow. It took three hours. The upside was that I worked with one salesperson throughout the entire process. The dealership facility lacked comprehensive displays of accessories and for the vehicle protection packages (rustproofing, paint sealant and interior protection). It wasn't very well explained and the pricing breakdown was a mystery until the final signing. Accessories were selected from the internet or a tri-fold brochure. I would characterize the experience as a no-frills dealership. Two days after I bought the car a $250 coupon came out and the dealership refused to grant me the savings. Once they tell you the price that's it. There is no negotiation on anything.

Don't trust their inspection!

by from Minneapolis, MN |

The process of buying the car went really well, everyone was nice/helpful. However, a week later I was having a couple of issues and called to ask what they could do. Basically, nothing. I was told they would look at it for free (acted like this was a big favor "normally costs $125", my mechanic would look at it for $19.95) and reminded me I bought it as-is. I know I didn't buy the extra warranty, but it was less than 7 days since I had bought the car and they repeated so many times during the sale how they did a 127 point inspection-they should have found this during the inspection. Had they just handled how they interacted with me when I had problems differently, I would have been much happier and not left with a negative experience. I decided to go to my regular mechanic to get it checked out since I am not very trusting of what they would tell me at this point

Looking for used and bought a new car

by from Minneapolis, MN |

We were looking for a gently used Subaru and quickly realized that we were not saving very much but buying used. Instead we bought a new car (and traded in my 14 year old Subaru). The salespeople were very fair with a now hassle best price deal. We are very happy with our new car (perhaps mostly since it's been 14years since having a new car.)

Great salesmen, creepy financial managers

by from Bloomington, MN |

Purchased a used vehicle from Walser Subaru and the salesman was great. Knowledgeable but not intrusive or pushy. I would have given 5 stars if it wasn't for the creepy financial manager - not someone I'd like to work with again and won't be going back because of him. If you're not financing, or have your own financing ready, this is a great dealership.
