excellent service repair at Morries

by from MN |

NOt long ago I purchased a used Saab 9-5 turbo from Morries with well over 100,000miles. the car was in immaculate condition and very resonably priced. I ended up purchasing an extended warranty do to the high miles and the car is for my son to take to college. to make a long story short, the water pump went out recently and it just so happend to be covered by the extended warrantly with a small deductible. Morries was very accomidating with the diagnosis, ordering the part and making an appointmentr for me that worked, they even shuttled me around while the car was in the shop for a few hours. the service and courteousness that I received was really over and above any I had ever received from an auto dealer. especially on a used vehicle. Morries has a customer for life with me and my family.

Recommended only as a waste of time

by from Golden Valley, MN |

In 2013 I approached Morrie's Cadillac regarding my interest in a CTS-V sedan or wagon. I was invited to visit the dealership for a test drive, which I did. Upon my arrival, I was not able to meet with my salesperson - who was busy on another sale - so I was shuffled to two other salespeople. The test drive that I had arranged, for a Saturday afternoon, did not happen. I was told that "[they] don't let just anybody drive these cars." Since I had spent over an hour at the dealership with my fiancee by that time, I left, frustrated that our time had been wasted. I let go of the idea of buying a CTS-V at that point, uncertain that I wanted one since I had not been able to drive one first-hand; I refuse to write a check for that much money for a car I haven't at least driven first. This year, again, I decided that it was time to investigate buying a CTS-V, before the new design (which I'm not crazy about) becomes my only option. Again, I arranged beforehand for a test drive, arranged with two different people. Upon visiting the dealership, I waited for 20 minutes to be helped by a staffperson, and there was no receptionist on duty. The staffperson who finally wandered into the showroom (it was previously empty), went to retrieve the salesperson I had spoken with, but returned with someone else. I didn't mind; I understand that walk-ins sometimes trump an appointment, which might always turn out to be a no-show. However, after receiving the usual sales jargon (e.g., "What would it take to get you into this car today?"), the sales person left to have someone move the appropriate cars out of the way to allow for the test drive I had arranged. He returned several minutes later to inform me that: a) "We don't just let anybody [sic] drive these cars", and b) "You can come in this weekend to meet with "xxx" to talk about the car, and he can tell you more about it." Two strikes and you're out, Morrie's. There won't be a third pitch. Rest assured, however, that as an active member of the local performance-car and track-driving communities, I will be recommending strongly against Morrie's as a V-Series dealer, and will be relaying my experience to other potential V-Series (and Cadillac) buyers.

Horrible experience

by from Minneapolis, MN |

It was my first time purchasing a car and I had a horrible experience. I purchased a used Acura MDX at this dealer (Golden Valley location). I went to test drive the car with my fiance and decided to purchase the car that day. The car just got to the dealer that day, so we purchased it pending inspection. I was told that they will inspect the car and have it detailed and washed and ready for me to pick up in two days. When i picked up the car, it was not detailed. The seats were dirty, the back got dog hair all over and there was a piece of candy melted inside the center console. So i asked the sale person if this was even detailed, he said yea, but let me pull it up and clean out the stuff for you. If it was detailed, then i don't think any of this stuff would still have been there! As I was driving home, i tried to roll the passenger's window down and it did not worked. We brought the car in for the sales person to verify the issuel. I was told that I just needed to schedule an appointment and bring it in and it should get fixed. Before we went in for our appointment, we took the car to our machenic to see if he could find any other issue. He noticed that the sway bar links were worn and needed to be replaced. Not sure how they could miss something like that in an inspection, it's a safety issue! We brought the car in so they could look at the sway bar links and the window. They said that they would fixed the sway bar link, but they will only cover for half of the cost to get the window fixed. I contacted the salesperson and told him that I do not want to pay any money to get it fixed. It was something that should worked and doesn't and they should have caught it in the inspection. He replied saying that: It's nice of them to pay for half of it. It's a used car so sometimes things don't work. I understand it's a used car, but it's only 5 years old, and things should work. I was never told that I need to pay for any of it in the first place. After going back and forth with the sales manager, they finally decided that they will cover the cost. The window finally got fixed, but we brought the car home and realized that after they fixed the window problem, the driver's side mirror can not be adjusted. I'm just so frustrated with this whole purchase experience that i'm just not going to bother bringing it back because I know they are going to find some way or another to not have to fix it. I don't know about other people experience with this place, maybe buying a Brand New Caddilac you could get different treatment, but my experience was horrible.

Great experience, resolved all issues timely

by from Minneapolis, MN |

Dan Kane did an outstanding job in a difficult situation. My drivers license had expired the week before i went to the dealership with our issue so he couldn't give me a loaner car (totally understandable) but Dan went out of his way to make my experience excellent. VERY nice job by Dan.

Exemplary Servuce

Tom Frisch in the service department did an excellent job updating me on what was going on with my ATS. The service was done in less than an hour. I have never had such comprehensive quality of service anywhere else.

Worst dealership ever

by from Brooklyn park |

I called in response to two cars that was listed, but was told they were in transit. I kept hearing that for a week. Why would you post cars that you don't actually have in your inventory? I was told a week later that they would be in on a Saturday for sure, and of course on that day I was told again the cars are still in transit. Horrible lies. For a very reputable dealership that sells high end cars, I am truly disappointed at how they handle this situation.

Sonny, we're sorry to hear that the in-transit tagging made your vehicle search difficult. We put cars on our site with the in-transit flag before they arrive because shoppers simply want to know about all cars that are available. We know that consumers like choices and we try to be upfront with what is available. In most cases it works well, but as we've found it can also be a frustration. Again, we apologize for the inconvenience.

Repair done on time and fixed right.

by from Minneapolis, MN |

I was in for a repair and the repair was completed when promised and the problem was fixed the first time, as usual. This dealership always does what they say they are going to do. Their service department is excellent.
