Truthful AND honest

by from Findlay, OH |

The sales man I talked with, and the owner were both honest with the problems of the used car I was looking at and the value of my trade. It was a cold day, they took the car in the shop so I could see it in a warm place, they even put it up on the lift so I could see the full undercarriage. I did buy the car from them, and left to sell mine myself. They did not play games, they were straight forward and honest, what else could they have done... maybe doughnuts. fyi I found them via the cars.com website and drove about an hour to get there, to bad they aren't my local dealer.

Worth The Drive

by from "South Bend In" |

After searching for months for the right vehicle. I found exactly what I was looking for at Steinle Family. Each time I called Joe our salesman was very helpful and answered all of my questions. When I felt I had enough information to make the 250 mile trip from South Bend. I was not disappointed. The vehicle was in excellent condition with low mileage. The entire staff was knowledgeable and my wife and I felt we had found new friends. When a slight concern arose after owning the trailblazer for two months, the manager Gary handled everything to my extreme pleasure. I will highly recommend the Steinle Family Dealership to my friends and family. We will be back for future business and service the Steinle Dealership provides, it is well worth the trip. Dealership gives car salespeople bad name

by from Illinois |

I called about a used 2014 used vehicle. Asked if it had a smoke odor. They said "no". I asked a few other questions about vehicle too. I then described my trade-in, the good and BAD. They said it's value was $XXXX. So I drive 5 hrs (one way). When I got there, I went and got in the used vehicle I was interested in. It might not of had a smoke odor, but it reeked of something. You COULD NOT miss the stench. Needless to say, I wasn't interested. Before I left, I asked what type of value they put on my car. Guess what, it was $1500 less than what they quoted over the phone. The reasons they gave for the lower value were the SAME as I told them was wrong with my car over the phone. If you have to drive any distance, DO NOT waste your time. They do not value your time. Guess they thought if I drove that far, I'd buy. They thought wrong. My saleman's name was Todd.

Hello sir, my name is Garrett Steinle I am the sales Manager here at Steinle Chevrolet-Buick. First off I want to offer you my apologies for your experience, We are a small town business that relies heavily on customer satisfaction and being upfront and honest with each person who walks through our doors. I am 100% genuine when I say our mentality of being up front and honest especially with customers who are unable to put their own eyes (or nose in this case) who are planning on driving a great distance to look at one of our vehicles is taken very seriously and ALWAYS has Management involved. It is unfortunate because It seems like If you are a happy customer and had a good experience you do not take the time to go online and share the great experience but if a customer in anyway has an unpleasant experience they want to vent and blow off steam which as a consumer I understand. As you know, no one can bat 1000 and it is impossible to please every customer. With that being said I recall the deal and I personally went out and sat in the vehicle before you made the drive and confirmed with Todd that the vehicle in our opinion was never smoked in. I do not know exactly what you picked up on because we actually sold the vehicle you were looking at last night and I was personally dealing with the lady who purchased it (who was a non-smoker) And she said nothing at all about a "Smoke odor" or a "stench" as you described it and I have a hard time believing that anyone would pay $30,000 for a vehicle that "reeked" I feel like you are using some pretty strong and exaggerated terms to describe a vehicle that 4 or 5 other people picked up no smell at all. So like I said I apologize you feel like you were misled and had a bad experience but I stand behind our salesman that there was no unusual smell. It was a locally traded vehicle and we know the family that traded it in. As far as your trade I started at FULL TRADE IN VALUE and deducted for the 4 BALD TIRES and the CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. I had our service department hook up the scan tool so I knew exactly what the malfunction was and knew how much it would cost to fix so in that regard we were being completely fair with you. My job is to make sure our sales force and every employee represent the name of the company and its 56 year reputation to the standards that the company was founded on so I take this very seriously, If you would like to contact me here at the dealership I would be happy to figure something out to reimburse you for the gas to and from our dealership! Have a great day, God Bless and good luck on finding the right vehicle for you and your family!
