No problems at this dealership. Good experience.

by from Belgrade, Montana |

Bought a 2012 Ram 3500 6.7 in 2013. This truck had no issues and was as represented. My salesman was Nathan and was very helpful. I travel and was not even there to pick it up. In fact, I bought site unseen and did not test drive. I now have put 65000 miles on this truck with no issues at all. Great truck, great dealership, and Nathan was a great representitive of this dealership. I will buy from them again with no hesitation. However you are buying a used truck and should chedk it out. They are used and you never know for sure, but this is the same with new.

Get it thoroughly inspected!!

by from Houston |

I had posted earlier about a 2007 5.9 dodge I had purchased from NTTS. The truck had a bad water pump, and the A/c had a major leak, however it was doctored up prior to the purchase. I took the truck to get these items repaired, and also service the transmission while it was there. After a couple days the owner of the well respected diesel shop performing the repairs call me. He said he could change the fluid and filter in the transmission, but the tranny was gonna go out more than likely within 1-2000 miles. There were large metal fragments in the bottom of the pan, and the clutches were burnt up! The tranny alone was $2900.00. I highly recommend a detailed inspection when buying from these guys . Have mechanic drop the tranny pan and see what's in there. I paid to have mine inspected, but they didn't do that. I also believe the tranny fluid was changed prior to me buying the truck. Since I fixed all the issues that came up with the truck(I only put 600 miles on it). I have spent an additional $4000.00 on top of the price of the truck. I would have had better luck buying from an individual. These guys know all the tricks of the trade!!

Get it Inspected.

by from Houston, Tx |

I bought a 2007 Dodge 2500 Cummins from them in August 2013. The truck had 100,000 miles on it and looked great inside and out. I also had it inspected by a Diesel shop not far from them. Inspector said the front end needed some work, and North Texas Truck Stop had agreed to pay to have it fixed. Other than that he said the truck was in good shape. Well, its a month later and the A/C doesnt work.(leaks freon out in a couple days). The waterpump is starting to weep coolant also. (That wouldve been hard to tell when the A/C was working when I bought it) I asked for the receipt done on the front end work and they gave it to me when I bought the truck. I noticed the Shop who inspected it charged them for freon on the receipt?? I also learned that very shop is where they send there trucks to get worked on. Sounds like a big conflict of interest to me. I paid more than book value for the truck thinking I was getting something in great shape, now it will cost me $1200-$1500 right off that bat in order to get it right. Do they have nice looking trucks there? Absolutely. Are they truthful about what they're selling you? I dont believe so.

A Great Place to do Business

by from Albany, NY |

We bought 2005 Dodge Ram. We flew into Dallas airport & they arranged to pick us up. The pick-up truck was exactly as described. We are very happy with it. The service was great. We had been a little nervous about buying truck unseen when we were in upstate NY & they were in TX. They are real professionals there. They took extra pictures of engine & under carriage & sent it to us. they let us keep truck there for 1 month until we could come down & pick it up. The facility was real high class. Much thanks to Dave Michener!

Great Service

by from Louisville, KY |

I bought a 2006 GMC 2500 HD 4x4 Duramax Diesel a few months ago.I have had no problems and I am very happy with my purchase. My salesman's name was Nathan and in my book he went above and beyond the call of duty. If I ever go to purchase another used truck, it will be from North Texas Truck Stop. Those guys were great, up front, and honest. My truck was exactky what they said. Thanks again for the great service and making the transaction simple.

You Get what you Get

by from Grand Prairie, TX |

I bought a 2008 GMC Sierra Duramax from North Texas Truck stop about 1 year ago. The trcuk had 108,000 miles on it which is not bad for a diesel truck. I got the truck for a reasonable price and was initially happy with the purchase. I was told the truck had no issues they knew of and it was a great buy. After a year of owning this truck, I will never buy a used truck from them again. The truck has numerous issues, the front axle leaked badly and needed to be resealed and all the gaskets needed replaced ($600). The truck was out of alignment ($180). I have had numerous other issues with the truck. I understand that it was a "used" truck and these things happen. But you would figure that they would at least sell a product that was inspected and had the "major" problems addressed. So like I say "you get what you get" and a 10 min test drive and a good lookover might not give you any indication that you will be spending thousands of dollars to get the truck in good working order.

It is unfortunate that you waited a year to bring any issues you may have had with the truck to light. If you had brought any issues to our attention shortly after the point of sale, we would have been happy to adress those issues with you at that time. I am afraid there is nothing that can be done after a year of use. However, we do offer warranties at the point of sale that can be helpful should an issue arise down the road. Every customer who declines a warranty is required to sign a warranty waiver stating they have been offered a warranty but are declining to purchase a warranty at the time of sale.

Be very, very careful with these people

by from Telluride, CO |

Bought a truck from them, looked very nice online and they seem to be straightforward and knowledgeable. The reality is they are very careful to take pictures which do NOT show any paint or body flaws or any interior flaws. Mechanical flaws they will not disclose at all. Sent a friend who is a mechanic over to check the truck out, found that one front tire was bald on the inside (remember the tricky photography?) and would have to be rplaced, got the sales guy after some heated discussion to agree to knock $500 off for this. The truck turned out to have numerous issues which North Texas would have certainly known about prior to pricing and selling the truck. They use the no haggle, one low price policy to make a buyer feel as if they are getting a reasonable deal....the buyer is not. This is NOT carmax or any other well capitalised, well run and managed business. These guys are used car lot salesmen and you as a buyer should steer well clear of them. They will NOT treat you fairly

As a dealer that sells over 1,500 trucks a year to thousands of satisfied customers, it is hard to see a negative review being left about us when you sent a mechanic to inspect the truck, you negotiated $500 to replace a bald tire and everything else checked out ok by your mechanic. We agreed to give the $500 you negotiated, you signed all terms and conditions and everyone lived up to their end of the bargain. Now we have to suffer bad press because we did everything you asked of us? It hardly seems fair from our perspective.

Buyer Beware!........Shopping Experience Very Poor

by from Ft Worth, TX |

So my wife, my son, and I drive over an hour in traffic on a weekday after work to look at a truck that I was interested in possibly purchasing from this dealer. I was pre-financed and was about 98% sure I was going to buy a truck that day. In all fairness we did show up about 30 min before close time, and it appeared that most everyone had gone home for the day. I realized this when I walked into the unlocked office and it was a ghost town. Upon looking at the truck I was most interested in, a gentleman walked right past my family and I, looked right at us, and did not say hello, wave, or even acted like he cared we were there. I figured - surely this must just be a service guy, and a sales guy should show up soon. Didn't happen. I walked back towards the office after I look at the truck and the same guy that had walked by us previously was walking back out. I had to stop him to ask if he could help me find someone to look at the truck. Low and behold this was the lone sales guy! He haste fully hands me the keys I requested for the truck I was there to look at (BTW he didn't even know it was on his own website) and did not offer once to let me test drive it nor did he make himself present to answer any questions I might have had. In addition, the truck wasn't in near as good shape as the pictures portrayed being there was some significant dents and body damage not pointed out in the article or pictures. Therefore as I went back inside the office I say "by the way my name is XXXX", gave a brief apology for coming in near their closing time, and then I requested keys for a few other trucks on their lot. He hands me the keys and this time he stays in his office. Not once, not twice, but four trucks I looked at with no presence from the sales guy for any information. As I realize that this guy was starting to obviously be in a hurry to close for the day, I find a truck that I was willing to begin some negotiations on. I walk in to ask the guy what kind of deal he could make me on the truck and he tells me they are priced to sell, they have only had it for 1 day ( as if that was a significant reason for being reluctant to make a deal), but he could maybe budge a little. I give him an offer which was about $900 less than their asking price being that there was also damage to this vehicle, dents, bumper pulled out in front where tow hook was completely gone, and the power back glass got stuck halfway while trying to operate. He asks me if I am already financed in which I respond yes, and he says he has to call the owner. The owner replies $400 short of my offer and nothing less because they put rims on the truck. Therefore I shake the salesmen hand and tell him to have a nice evening. The guy shakes my hand and to add insult to injury lets me walk out without even asking me for any contact information what so ever!? In summary the experience was a complete waste of time, and reflected the worst customer service I had ever seen while attempting to purchase a vehicle. When I say that, I have experience in purchasing a lot of vehicles! I am not a person who usually puts comments in a suggestion box, nor am I usually the person that feels the need to write a complaint about every bad experience I have. This is actually my first time ever. However, I feel that this needs to be posted for buyers to be aware of what I experienced and to be aware of the possibilities that this might happen in the event they attempt to buy from this dealer.
