1971 mustang convert.

by from montreal canada |

purchased a 1971 ford mustang convert in 2010 from lash auto, I live in montreal Canada so my first mistake was not checking it out before buying, they stated that the car had no rust issues I fiqured buying a car from florida they would be no rust [was I wrong]I got the car back to Canada and got it inspected and 1 of the shock towers was rusted right through I got it fixed for a cost of 500 bucks,2014 I took the interior out and discovered this car had 2 carpets who ever had the car just put the new carpet over the old one,i lifted the old carpet out and guess what I found all the floor pans rusted out, lash auto stated that there were no rust issues in my opinion this place is not qualified to sell classic cars he covers up the problems and flips them...

36 Ford Review

by from Houston, Texas |

The experience in buying the car was just fine. The people there are nice. However, the car quallity was not what I expected based on their descriptions on-line. It was described as a frame off restoration, so I expected there would be very few problems with the car, which turned out not to be the case. First, it was really not "ready to be driven" . You could not put gas in the gas tank because the fill tube was leaking and gas went all over the ground. The drivers side door did not fit properly...did not close flush. The clutch slipped really badly and made the car barely drivable. None of the lights work..including headlights and tail lights. The heat gauges ( both original and one that was added) did not work. Contrary to what I was told the oil had not been changed at the dealership. Shame on me, since I did not have the car inspected before I paid a relatively high price for it. Had I known about all the problems that needed to be repaired, I would have passed on the car. Before buying from this dealer, I recommend an inspection. Lesson learned!

Misrepresentation of purchased auto

by from Pennsylvania |

Not sure how the car looked so good in the pictures and the obvious flaws did not stand out. The car will not pass inspection because of a rusty frame, problems with the brake lines and fuel line. The entire undercarriage was painted flat black to hide all of the defects. The car is a mess. Exterior has dents and huge scratches that did not appear on the dealer photos, they must have used a filter because the car color as is not the color of the car in the dealer photos......DO NOT BUY A CAR FROM THIS DEALER WITHOUT ACTUALLY PERFORMING A PHYSICAL INSPECTION OF THE CAR YOU INTEND TO PURCHASE.

Beware, Lash Auto is a shady dealership

by from Washington, DC |

I am only surprised that there aren?t more of these negative reviews. I purchased a 1968 Corvette Convertible that Steve advertised as a Frame-off restoration. I have the entire add to show what he claimed this car was. I have had a certified Corvette mechanic go through the entire car due to all of the problems encountered. This is just a partial list of the issues: 1. Front suspension is shot and must be rebuilt. 2. Lash Auto claims to have rebuilt the rear suspension and there are a number of new parts however, none of the bolts were tighten down so the CAM angle on the rear end so far off that it appeared that the rear tires were about to come off. 3. The wipers do not work even after four attempts by Lash Auto to fix them. 4. The heater core is not connected and has been sealed. 5. The speedometer does not work. 6. The wrong bell housing is installed on the transmission causing the transmission to tilt to the right and make shifting into reverse almost impossible. 7. The transmission is full of sludge. 8. The convertible top is ripped in four different places. 9. After Lash Auto attempted to fix the speedometer cable problem and the broken temperature gauge, the dash was not re-installed and all of the dash wiring is hanging down. They have sent me a check for 1,300.00 to cover the cost of repairing the transmission but the rest of the issues that must be repaired will cost an additional 8 to 9 thousand. This was advertised as a car in perfect condition. The advertisement even says ?The ashtray and cigarette lighter work and have never been used?. They don?t work and they had been well used many years ago. Under no circumstances should anyone do business with this car dealer. They claim to ?Christians? and really play that up during any of the initial conversations. As soon as there is a problem, they become uncooperative, difficult, and very defensive. I would be happy to provide the advertisement that Steve had on EBay, all the emails I?ve had with them, and the entire assessment done by a third party C-3 Certified Chevy Corvette mechanic.

2010 Ford Escape Limited

by from Lakeland, FL |

I visited Lash Auto in search of a used Ford Escape Limited. I had some 'must haves' like steel blue exterior, black leather interior and a sunroof. Lash did not have what I was looking for but the sales manager, Billy, said that they could find me one and that they have the ability to search the entire country via a dealers only inventory website (not available to the general public). Mr. Billy found me exactly what I was looking for. A 2010 model with only 47k miles on it. They had it trucked in from another state and I couldn't be any happier with the entire process. Billy even had a hot pink pinstripe put on for me and helped me acquire some hot pink Ford emblems as well. I absolutely love my Escape. THANK YOU Mr. Billy and Lash Auto!!! -Mikaley Lynn (Lakeland, FL)

Lousy Seville

by from South Orange, NJ |

The 1976 Seville I recently bought was represented as having 13,xxx miles; it had 113,xxx. The engine and undercarriage had been cleaned and painted to make it look good, but the engine was a mess (I'm fast approaching $2,000 in repairs). Also, the dealership represented that all the electrical options worked. The a/c and heater fan didn't work; the cruise control didn't work; the horn didn't work, among other things. The body and interior are in good shape, but overall, I paid about twice what the car is worth.
