I recently found a vehicle listed at Hoyte Dodge in TX. Unfortunately, I live in the Florida Panhandle, 900 miles away. I had just had a terrible experience with a dishonest salesperson who completely misrepresented a vehicle I went to purchase in Tampa (7 hours away), so I was more than a little skeptical about talking to a salesman over the phone about a vehicle. I had seen one listed on the internet at Hoyte, and it was pretty much just what I was looking for, so I called, and spoke with Randy O'Brien. The car was not yet fully listed on their site yet-so there were no photos. Within a very short time, Randy had gone out in the cold weather and taken about a dozen photos and emailed them to me. I had told him about my recent experience in Tampa, and seemed to understand and relate to my being uneasy calling about a vehicle so far away. He walked around the vehicle and said that he couldn't see anything noticeable as far scratches or damage-nothing "stood out" he said - I felt like that was an honest appraisal. He later took 3 videos of the car for me, walking around it and looking inside. He provided a Carfax and Autocheck, and later, even helped me get the records from a local tire and auto repair shop for the vehicle. Once I called, and Randy was busy, and Courtney Fussell helped me (instead of just taking a message). I told her my situation, and that I was unable to come and look at the vehicle, and was trying to find out as much about it as I could-specifically, what repairs and service had been done to it (or recalls, etc). She said that she would see what she could do. Within a short time, she called me back and was standing there talking to the Service Manager, looking at the records of the vehicle. She asked if I would like for her to send them to me, and had them printed, and then went and scanned them and emailed them to me - within the hour. Usually, something like that is "too big of a deal" and *if* someone would do that, it would be a day or two. I eventually had the vehicle transported to Florida by a 3rd party, and was apprehensive to see if it was in as good as shape as Randy had told me it was, and was very happy to see that it was. He notified me when they picked it up to start this way with it, and then even called to see if I had been able to meet with the delivery man the day I received the vehicle, and if everything was "ok". We did the entire deal over the phone and through the internet, and they "overnighted" paperwork to me to complete the deal. An entire week went by after I had made a "verbal" agreement to purchase the vehicle, while I tried to find a shipper to deliver the vehicle. At no point was there any problem or pressure from Hoyte Dodge. Ultimately, 2 full weeks went by before I could get it sent back here. They always treated me with respect, and during our "negotiation" over the price, I felt like they really tried to make the deal "work". Throughout the price negotiation, Randy was polite and respectful, and never pressured me. After having the worst experience of my life *trying* to buy a car in Tampa, this turned out the be the BEST BY FAR! Even though it's a long distance away, I will probably START my next car search at Hoyte Dodge. I have been very impressed with how I was treated, and how helpful Randy and Courtney both were.
