DON'T BUY A USED CAR HERE !!!!!!!

by from Lynnwood, WA |

We went to what we thought was a reputable car dealer to buy a reliable used Toyota. We found one we liked and grilled the salesman about the history of the car. He assured us many times that we were buying a solid and safe vehicle that had been thoroughly checked by their service department. "If it were a car with any problems it would not be placed on our lot". EIGHT WEEKS AFTER PURCHASING THE CAR IT REQUIRED A $1,800.00 DOLLAR REPAIR.

The people from Magic were wonderful. Very simple to buy a Prius from. I tried with dealer in downtown seattle but they just gave me the run around!

They had a great selection of Prius. I found the one I was looking for and they were great people to deal with. They got straight to the point and was easy to buy my new Prius.

False Advertising

by from Bellevue, WA |

On 9/3/11 we drove a considerable distance from our home in Belleuve to test drive a Certified Used 2010 Toyota Sienna 4X4 that we found advertised on the dealer's website and cars.com. We selected this car specifically because it was a 4x4 and Certified. We test drove the minivan, loved it but on closer inspection found it had damage on the rear bumper and very worn tires that did not look sized correctly for the vehicle (and showed considerably more wear than the amount of miles the odometer showed.) HMMM. Red flag. These two things should be fixed to meet Certified Preowned standards, or at least there should be a mention that there is intention to have them fixed before the car is sold. When we asked, there was no such intention, only that it could be discussed in negotiations. We went to the negotiation table with our sales person Nathan, discussed the tire and body damage issue and price. About half an hour into the back and forth process, Nathan came from talking with his sales manager and told us he was so sorry but the car is actually a FWD, not 4 wheel drive. HMMMM. BIG Red Flag. After some soul searching and discussion about ethics and Bait & Switch, we were still willing to purchase the car at that point but only with an adjustment to the price. Nathan asked his sales manager Mojo to talk with us. Mojo told us he would fix the body damage and put on new tires and he would call that a price concession. These were two things we would expect with Certified Preowned quality and did not consider them a price concession. But Mojo would not budge on the advertised price- even for a car that didn't have the 4WD we drove all the way there for. 1.5 hours after we arrived we walked out of Magic Toyota very disappointed with two very sad and tired kids- and our 8 year old daughter in tears because she really liked the car. So did we. For just a little flexibility and concession for false advertising everyone could have been happy. No magic for us at Magic Toyota.

slimy car dealer that movies portray

by from Bothell, WA |

The dealer reassured us that the car was "brand new", it had 25 miles on it and we brought it at the MSRP price. The "sold as-is" statement was never presented during negotiations and was only brought out after signing the sales agreement (with arbitor only settlement). Took the car home only to find out that the cars front fender has been damaged and repainted. I would never have agreed to purchase a car with previous damage and feel cheated and lied to about the condition of the car.
