Like most car dealerships, a likeable bunch of people until a problem . The problem being cvt transmission made before October1,2013. a service bulletin about a condition of problems with the torque converter released around 2011 about customer complaints when stopping and the engine losing power.Subaru didn't inform the consumer about this problem and the and their solutions to a fix. ( change thrust washer from a solid bushing type to a needle bearing type so as to bleed off oil causing the clutch application pressure keeping the clutch locked up. This causes low engine rpm in my case it went as far as the engine stalling. Also in my case a very expensive repair estimate. ( seven thousand dollars) The dealership said they might be willing to split the bill with us. Sounds like a good deal until you run across this bulletin about the transmission and the fix and the fact they did not to inform consumers of the fix I think because of the cost. I believe they choose to do nothing hoping the problem will go away, leaving their customer with a timebomb of a very expensive bill .

Positive experience with Ocean Subaru

My spouse and I bought a pre-owned certified 2011 Subaru Impreza from Ocean Subaru on July 31, 2013. A few main points from our very positive experience with them: ? They suggested that we take the car to our own mechanic (Good News garage in Cambridge MA) to check the car and promised to fix all and any problems which will be found before we decide whether to buy it or not - no fees! ? They drove the car for us to Cambridge a day before the scheduled appointment - again with no charge. ? Since our mechanic approved this car we decided to buy it. His only suggestion was to change the rear deferential fluid. Ocean Subaru did it immediately as promised. ? Starting our first call they addressed and properly answered all our questions, especially those sensitive ones concerned with warranties, coverage and deductibles. ? When we figured out that we cannot use the plates from our previous car which was totaled more than 2 weeks ago, they immediately offered two solutions: to take their dealership's car (for free) until we obtain the plates, or to drive our newly bought car with dealer's plates and return them once we get our own plates. Two things only would make us happier: if we would spend less time - the whole procedure on the day of purchase (completely stressless and positive) took us around 5 hours. In addition, we had little success negotiating the price, or getting lower APR for financing. However the initial price was already significantly lower than the KBB and market value. As for the APR - seems it wasn't under the financial manager?s control (the financing came from a bank). If you look for a stressless, respectful and knowledgeable place to buy a car - do consider Ocean Subaru!

VERY UNPROFESSIONAL!!

STUART IS VERY UNPROFESSIONAL!! I SEARCHED A CAR ONLINE AND THE PRICE HAD COME DOWN ON A CERTAIN VEHICLE, I WENT IN AND WE WANTED TO BUY WE WHERE GOING TO TRADE IN OUR CAR AND FOR THE REMAINING AMOUNT PART FINANCE AND PART CASH. FIRST OF ALL HE PULLED OUR CREDIT WITH OUT OUR CONSENT AND ON THE DAY OF PICK UP HE WAS SO CONFUSED ABOUT THE AMOUNTS HE HAD WRITTEN DOWN THAT HE PANICKED AND TOLD ME WE SHOULD FORGET ABOUT THE WHOLE THING..I CANT UNDERSTAND HOW A SALES MAN IS SO UNORGANIZED VERY FRUSTRATING!!
