Good on the sale. Forget about service/repair

There's no doubt they have an experienced & somewhat knowledgeable sales team in the front of the house - but forget about the back of the house. We're a household with two Volvo's & we've experienced the same, horrendous service, lack of attention to detail, and issues related to basic preventative maintenance on both vehicles. Your arrival in the service dept speaks for itself - as no one even looks at you. With 4 people behind the counter & no customers, they're all too busy to look up & offer help. "Regular maintenance" to them is equivalent to an expensive oil change vs any effort towards preventive maintenance. I've had to replace tires with just under 16,000 miles that were allegedly rotated at the dealer - yet the warranty on the tires is void since it was apparent they were never rotated, balanced, or aligned. Our second vehicle, although a little higher on the tire mileage, had the same exact issue. Seems like an expensive coincidence. I overheard a conversation of one of the service reps stating he had no loyalty to a brand of car, but has been happy with his Toyota. Thanks for confirming. I have no loyalty to this brand of car either... and certainly NOT this dealer.

First off we are sorry that you felt ignored when you visited our Service Department. When we attend to our service customers we strive to give them 100% of our attention. Many become like family to us. Regarding your tires, many of the tires specified for current production Volvo cars and indeed many other brands are high performance tires. They yield the best steering and braking control while giving a smooth comfortable ride, but sometimes at the cost of wear life. There are tires on the market that have longer wear lives, but handling and comfort are compromised in some cases. We would be willing to help you find the closest solution for your needs. We can't speak to tire warranties as it varies by tire manufacturer. If you purchased your tires from Almartin Volvo we can certainly determine the tire warranty for which you are eligible. Volvo recommends service on most Volvo models every 7,500 miles. Since 2009 model year Volvo has borne the expense of these services at various levels. However, we at Almartin Volvo feel that 7,500 miles is too long for a car to go without being seen by an experienced technician. We offer an oil and filter service and safety inspection in between the Volvo scheduled services for from $30 to $40 depending on model. We feel this is a reasonable cost and gives us the opportunity to catch issues such as uneven tire wear and do something about it before it is too late.
