Absolute trash establishment!

Absolute trash establishment! GT motors sold me a 2008 Lexus GX470 and I paid to have it delivered to my home. As soon as I turned it on, I noticed they had blatantly lied by stating there were no Check Engine lights or other problems. The truck then failed to pass state inspection in WV, requiring $1500 in repairs. The check engine problem givies multiple error codes and quoted requiring $3000 to repair. Additionally there is an electrical problem where the car battery is draining due to a short wire. GT Motors refused to cover any of the cost of repairs labor, they just sent me $400 to cover *half* the cost of a discounted part! DO NOT TRUST THEM, THEY ARE LYING. You’ve been warned.

Bought a car from these guys recently.

Bought a car from these guys recently. Test drove vehicle. As soon as we started, the check engine light came on. My mistake was believing them when they said the code was for a "grounding wire." They called the mechanic who (according to them) had done a tune up on the vehicle. We took the vehicle to the mechanic after purchase, who said the same thing, turned off the check engine light, and sent us on our way. The light popped back on immediately, but we had already paid for the car (my mistake again). We figured we could get it fixed fairly easily. Got home, checked with my own code reader, and two codes popped up. P0300 and P0420. Neither of those list anything about a "grounding wire." So now we're looking at an expensive fix after we diagnose what the actual issue is. Seems like the catalytic converter is garbage. The inside of the car smells like exhaust when it's idling, and it's a rough idle. Yeah, it's an old car, but whatever "tune up" was done was a poor job, and the fact that they lied about what the code was, and seemingly colluded with the mechanic, shows the blatant scam. My first mistake was not asking for the code myself, and trusting a car salesman to have some integrity. They will rush you to get those papers signed, not even giving you time to read any of it, lie to your face, take your money, and get you out of there before you realize the mistake. Lesson learned. Buyer beware. I suggest a thorough read through the reviews on various sites for this dealership. I'm not the only one they scammed.

Easily the worst purchase I ever made.

Bought a used Acura RSX Type-S with only around 100k miles on it and paid a premium of around $4000 because I was told the only flaws with the car were 2 minor dings. This was an out of state purchase, and was unable to travel at the time. This vehicle was advertised as stock, but was anything but. There was an after market exhaust that sounds awful, and a paint job done by an amateur (there were runs and fan marks in the clear coat, and overspray on the black trim and rear lights), and the ground effects were a different shade of red. There's noticeable hail damage, many other dents and dings, an oil leak, it needs a new CV boot, the clutch/transmission occasionally gets hung up and grinds going into 3rd gear, and doesn't even have all the same brand tires on it. Most importantly, the first night I took it out, the check engine and oil lights came on, at stop lights the engine was idling erratically, and it even completely shut down on me making a left hand turn off the freeway. Took it to the parts store and codes diagnosed were with variable valve timing and camshaft position. Made appointments with 2 different mechanics and they both had the same feedback. Metal shavings throughout the engine, and there was evidence that there was an attempt to cover up these issues. One mechanic stated that the cam was over torqued. Both mechanics (as well as many other professionals) stated that with these circumstances, the engine needs to be replaced. Everyone working in a shop with automotive background said they would not even attempt to try and repair it. Less than a week later, the car died on the freeway and was the last time it was able to be driven. Had to of course pay for the tow, had to inconvience someone to pick me up, which in turn ruined everybody’s evening. Clearly there's no attention to detail, or even a prior mechanical or cosmetic inspection done on the vehicles that are traded in there. Or worse yet, they tried covering up themselves all these very significant issues just so Jeff (who offered NO retribution) can make his commission and move on. Had to shell out another $1600 to get a lawyer. And over a year later I'm still stuck with a dead vehicle that has been sitting dormant for over 1 year taking up valuable space with no known resolution. There's no day that goes by that this TOXIC experience doesn't affect me in a negative way, it's impossible to avoid. So the only choices now are to scrap it for pennies on the dollar, or to invest another $9-10k (which is more than the vehichle is worth running), to replace with a used motor and transmission. Total investment of $25-26k for a car that’s currently worth $150.

Give GT Motors in Philadelphia a try - use CARFAX

Great experience. Got a wonderful car. Was searching for a vintage Lexus LS 430 and found one via CARFAX.com at GT Motors in Philadelphia. CARFAX had posted the car's price, that of similar vehicles, dozens of pictures, listed the number of previous owners, accident history if any, and known service history by location since first purchased, so I had a very good idea of the car's background. Called GT, spoke with Jeff of the sales team, and got what turned out to be a factual, "unvarnished", and informative description of the car. I was well impressed by the low-key approach, and made an appointment to see the car, traveling from the Wash DC area. During the trip to GT Motors, Jeff called to tell me the car just displayed a Check Engine icon in case I was no longer interested. I completed the trip, and am very glad I did! Upon arrival at GT Motors, the car proved to be as described, and Jeff let me take my time, push all the buttons and look over and under the car, and take a test drive without any pressure or sales "pitch". He candidly told me about the car, saying Tony, the owner of GT Motors, used the car as a personal vehicle for a number of months, and that it performed well without issues. We sealed the deal with Jeff documenting that the car's fault icon would be remedied, and that it would have a fresh DMV Inspection sticker on the windshield when I return. Several days later I returned by train to accept delivery. After answering numerous additional questions by me over the phone in prior days, Jeff picked me up at the station. The car had been beautifully "detailed" and looked really fine. The promises had been kept and an expensive transmission service had also been completed "on the house", plus a replacement spare tire and wrench, even though I bought the car "as is". I met Tony, the owner, as Jeff handled all the paperwork smoothly and efficiently, and drove away - the deal was done. Very enjoyable. Lots of unique and interesting vehicles at GT Motors. Highly recommend. Use CARFAX. Give GT Motors in Philadelphia a try.

Best car buying experience ever!!!

June 23, 2023 was a day that solidified my belief that there is still a good car dealership that you can go to purchase a car without hassle and pressure and that is GT motors in PA. Tony bent over backwards to make sure my car buying experience went through with the best interest rate possible and even went as far as calling his own bank for the best deal. I drove back to Maryland with my 2015 E 63 S AMG fully satisfied. Thanks to Tony for a job well done. I'll definitely go back for my next purchase and i do recommend this dealership. I don't usually write reviews but with this experience i am compelled to. Thanks to Tony and his guys!!!

I love GT Motors PA!

Great experience at GT Motors. Jeff was very honest and straightforward. Have had very bad experiences at other dealerships in the Philadelphia area with pushy salesmen, profit driven pricing, etc. The owners here make you feel very comfortable and I got a great deal on a beautiful 2018 Honda HRV with great mileage. The collection of rare and modified vehicles is so awesome to look through. If you have the pleasure of stopping by GT Motors PA, I encourage you to check it out. Thanks again I will be recommending GT Motors to anyone looking to buy a used car.

Great selection - no sales pressure!

These are NOT "dealer certified" re-sale cars, which means they have not undergone a special inspection. They drive fine and have no obvious problems. Bring your mechanic or take the car for an inspection - the dealership is more than happy to have you do that! WYSIWYG. I had an after-sale problem and they took care of it completely to my satisfaction, even though they had no legal obligation to do so. Great selection of unusual cars with some great deals as long as you do your own due diligence.

DO NOT BUY HERE

This dealer sells junk cars and some are even rusted out. If you are looking here have another mechanic look at the car or take it elsewhere.
