Horrible experience, dishonest

I have been to several dealerships in the past month shopping for a used pickup truck. I drove about 60 miles to this dealership to check out one of interest. This has been by far the worst experience I had. Just seeing if the truck was available to test drive seemed to be a bit of a process. I get there and step foot in the truck and immediately it wreaks of smoke. The salesperson tried to pass it off as a "musty" smell and he had no idea. I test-drove the truck anyways and really liked it but the smoke smell is pretty much a deal breaker or should be a huge price adjustment. The salesman could not answer many of the questions that I had for him nor did he make any effort to get them answered. Some were specific to the truck and others were generic Ram questions. Somewhere in the process he lost the key and wouldn't retrieve the spare when I asked if power folding mirrors worked. When I went inside the salesman admitted that he had just talked to other guys and the truck was definitely owned by a smoker. His boss came over and then told me that they had no idea and they were sending it to be cleaned out first thing in the morning. I find it hard to believe that a car that has been on the lot for a month and I am the first to bring up the smell. Then I tried to negotiate some numbers. They started with an insultingly low offer for my trade-in (which I guess is expected). So I said forget about my car and that I would easily sell it on my own. He then proceeded to tell me that the truck is priced to sell and its final. So he is saying that they priced the car before they knew about the smoke damage and after they knew about it, it is still priced the same. They made it sound like a huge burden on the customer because they had to eat the cost to clean the smoke smell out (if possible) and they can't guarantee it. The salesman contradicted himself several times when trying to explain their used car process. He then sent a generic thank you e-mail and asked if I had any questions ... Here is my response: It would be nice to have some of the questions I asked yesterday answered: - What type of business was the vehicle used for? - What were the aftermarket airbags that were removed? - Were the following noted recalls addressed and fixed if needed? - Electronic Stability Control (recall date 7/2/13) - Exterior Lighting (recall date 6/4/13) - Parking Brake (recall date 4/3/13) - Is there a spare key? - Are the power folding mirrors in working order? Still no response, not that I expected one. It is also worth noting I had my brother-in-law call before I went to see if there was any notable damage and the lady said that she would get back to him via e-mail and never did. I will be buying a truck in the near future but will not waste my time with this dealership.

DO NOT BUY A USED CAR FROM THESE PEOPLE

I bought a used car from Cortese several months back and I absolutely loved it..... for the first 4 days and ~ 350 miles of ownership. Then the clutch started slipping badly and the check engine light came on. I took it into the dealership and explained what was happening with the car. The maintenance manager said he would talk with his boss and figure something out. They gave me a rental for the meantime. Next day I get a call stating that they wouldn't be replacing the clutch under any sort of warranty FOUR DAYS AFTER I BOUGHT THE CAR. I went in to talk to the sales manager and he said they could cut me a deal to replace it (FOR $2400) because "I have never in my entire time working here replaced a clutch under warranty" and "I'm not saying you broke the clutch, but we aren't going to replace it"...... So the clutch just magically burnt up in no time after buying it and it wasn't my fault but not theirs either..... suuuuuuure Cortese sure. then they tried to charge me for the rental which I ASSUMED was for free since I had only had the car for 4 days. THESE GUYS ARE GREAT AT SELLING CARS BUT FOR THE LOVE OF GOD HOPE YOU DON'T HAVE TO DEAL WITH THEM AFTER YOU BUY IT, ESPECIALLY USED CARS. Don't even get me started on the Check engine light, I still have it on

Disappointed!

First impression was good. Sales process was so, so... I low balled them on price because the car had rust repair. I then got scolded by the sales manager and he made me feel like I was being interrogated. I should have left! But I was looking for this particular car and had been searching for too long. Ended up buying it for a fair price. I figured it was fair because I thought I was buying a car from a reputable dealer... TWO WEEKS LATER I noticed the rust coming through where it had been repaired! I immediately called and spoke with my salesman. He said he was going to check into getting it fixed for me and give me a call back. GREAT! ... My salesman didn't get back to me like he promised. I called every other day for a week and a half leaving multiple messages. Then I spoke with a manager, he told me there was a two hour call back policy and apologized up and down about no return calls. He claimed he wasn't even aware of the situation and he then promised to get back to me that day. Well he didn't stick to his word either, or follow his "two hour policy". I then had to call him back and he had somewhat of a solution and then was supposed to contact me again. NEVER DID! I stopped by, we took the car back to the body shop to get it looked at. Then again I wasn't given a definite solution and was sent on my way. I was told I would be contacted... guess what! No no one called!! I called and called again, left messages.... no solution. I stopped in AGAIN! and finally we got somewhere. It took TWO MONTHS for them to come up with a solution! I would think since I am young they would realize I have the potential to be a return customer for many cars to come and would do their best to make this a great experience. They really turned me off!
