"Bought a 2000 Durango V8 STD as a 2nd car to beat around town in. It had 75k on it. Paid $5,000. While it drives nothing my Range Rover, I love it as a solid and basic 2nd car. It's roomy, (3rd row seats come in handy tooling kids around to ball games), and safe transportation. 4 WD is great in the winter here. Leather seats are very comfortable. My wife doesn't like it -- she thinks it too big. The engine is noisy and the braking takes some getting used to as it's a very heavy car. The car is 0 years old now but has held together very well. Definitely is 'guys car' though."

"I can only speak positive about the power that my 2000 SLT 5.9ltr. Seat seems to have alot of slack in tracks and almost rocks back and forth as you stop and go. Fuel mileage is the worst at 14mpg on hwy. I have tuned the engine and tried several methods to improve on mileage and found only way is to leave it parked. I own a Magnum with Hemi and get twice the milage in city and 27 mpg hwy. Had several repairs to air conditioning and would not buy again. It has alot of room but the 3rd row better of for a contortionist."

"Owning, driving and depending on this vehicle has been a wonderful experience. The exterior design is sporty and fun. The interior is roomy, comfortable and well laid out. Furthermore, the vehicle has aged beautifully?it is 10 ½ years old and looks virtually new, inside & out. I would highly recommend this vehicle to anyone considering an SUV or needing a roomy, sporty, dependable mode of transportation."

"We have the 5.9L engine which requires premium gas, we had to rebuild the transmission which cost $3,000, inner and outer tie rod ball joints, drive shaft, starter, then engine started shutting off while driving. Replaced fuel pump, coil, crank sensor in effort to solve the problem and can't find it. We have to sell it for junk since nobody can fix it. Interior vent controls stopped working at about 60,000 miles. Had to replace automatic door locks on two doors, auto seat controls stoppped working a few thousand miles ago. Gas mileage is horrible. Everything else is OK though, does that make you want to go out and by one?"

"The Durango that I own couldn't be better. Has the power needed to haul almost anything and enough room for the whole family(dog too). The looks of the truck are very intimidating and makes other suv's seem wimpy. I bought it used for under $10k and I feel like i stole it."

"This was my first car. Everybody told me for your first car you should by a little 4door car, but i dont like little cars. I saw my 2000 durango and said i got to have that truck. Its been great to me. I have takin off road twice, and i made it out fine with the 4wheel drive. The only thing is that dont hit a pot hole doin 80mph. my wheel alinement is horrible. When its in 4wheel drive i dont even have to touch the steering wheel it will turn a corner by itself thats how bad it is. otherwise no problems. its almost at 102000. Still starts right up even when it was buried in 15inches of snow and in 10degree weather. I Love my durango hope it keeps goin for another 9 years lol."

"After buying my D with 74k I could not be more happy with my purchase.. I did have to replace the crank sensor at 113k(71bux).. aside from this minor issue this baby keeps on keeping on... smooth ride, quick response, quiet, snazzy looking too. The 4.7 eng is Mercedes and is as smooth as can be... They'll have to pry my cold dead fingers off of this baby when I go."

"I bought my 2000 Durango 4yrs ago used with 60,000 miles on it, I have had no trouble with it at all and we are going on 205,000 miles. The only thing I would change is the gas milege, I may not be able to afford to drive it anymore, getting about 12 miles per gallon. Best Truck I have ever had, beats the Fords my husband has in the back that dont' move."
