Consumer Reviews
"Every thing is excellent except the mechanical problem at the front wheels. In the street, the car is very smooth and at peak performance. However, when turns to right or left, runs over road bumps the car becomes sluggish as if it is curbed by the front wheels gears and a rattling sound emerges like a sound comes out of a broken bearing. It seems something is not seated well, improperly fixed or insufficiently engaged One day, I found out the sound disappeared and the car became very responsive and smooth after one of the front wheel was pressed against a pavement... weird !!! Any thoughts ???"

"We have owned our Dodge Durango for about 5 months and have 7000 miles on it. Let me start with the good; it does the big stuff...comfort, smooth, quiet ride, handling, interior design and space, very well. Towing capacity is great and it was a great value compared to the other vehicles that can tow more than 7000 lbs. The towing capacity was what I needed in an SUV to tow a camper. The bad; many of the features are annoying or just don?t work well. The sound/nav/phone system is horrible; it is difficult to operate, the voice command for dialing the phone is useless and I haven't found another way to dial the phone via blue tooth. You can shut the car off on an FM radio station and turn it back on and it will be on a random sat station. The "lane change" blinker function takes a precise amount of pressure on the blinker lever to make it work and most of the time I don't get it right so I have given up on using it. I have this feature on my VW and love it. The auto high-beams are useless; have disabled this. The rain sensing wipers work well but sometimes don't start working when needed. If you move the sensitivity adjust a little they start working and will continue to work after that. The transmission shifter move back and forth to manually change gears and there is no detent or gate to prevent this from happening accidently. Both my wife and I have accidently taken the car out of drive into manual mode. To top things off little things are starting to go wrong with it?paint flaking on the trim, brakes rough, rattle in the door, tire wearing unevenly. This is the 1st American car I have bought since 1997 and this is exactly why?annoying little things."

"I Purchased my 2012 Dodge Durango slightly used with 32000 miles on it freshly broken in. I made the best decision in this purchase. With 3 small children I have plenty of space for them to sit comfortably and being a teacher I have more than enough room for my books and lab supplies. I love the smooth drive and the horse power is awesome. Not to mention the UConnect and parking assistance is very useful. Dodge did a very good job with the Durango!"

"It has been a long time since I have made a car purchase so I did a lot of research before I decided on the the Durango Crew. This I have to say was the best choice for my family. I have 3 small children that need to be spaced out from each other so the interior room is perfect, the drive, the security, the sound system is also great! ...everything about the car is excellent!"

"I bought a CPO 2012 Durango Crew. I love the car so far and I'm most impressed with the engine. It's the Pentastar 3.6L V6, which puts out 290HP yet gets 23 MPG on the highway. I took it on a ski weekend fully loaded with my family, suitcases, and skis on the roof and it still got 23MPG on highway doing 70 - 75. The 0-60 time is faster than my 2009 Jeep 3.7L V6 which I traded in. It's got plenty of power for mergining onto the highway and passing. Interior comfort and layout is very similar to the Jeep but more spacious which was a major issue for getting the Durango. I wanted the 3rd row and to be able to put the drivers seat all the way back without limiting my sons leg room in the 2nd row. My only complaint so far is minor really but I don't like how the steering wheel connects to the steering column at the 6 o'clock location. When driving on the highway I like to hold the wheel at the bottom or 6 o'clock spot, but there is a spoke connection there so I have to hold it off to the side. Like I said minor but noticeable. Also in my Jeep I had a Boston Accoustic sound system which sounded better than the Durango's Alpine system. The Alpine system is good but not exceptional. All things considered I love the car and it rides great. Hopefully I'll be as impressed with it's reliablity in the coming years. No problems so far but I've only had it 2 weeks, which is why I gave it an average Reliability rating."

"I have about 6000 miles on my 2012 Durango R/T. Love it. It is a great driving experience. I love the acceleration of the Hemi. The fit and finish are well done inside and out. This is about the sportiest family hauler you are going to find. It's like driving a Charger. So if you haul a lot of cargo and kids and may need to tow something, yet want a sporty ride when you're not-I highly recommend this Dodge SUV."

"Ok, I have owned my Durango Citadel for a year now and feel I can give it an honest review. I have covered 12,000 miles during the past year and must say, of all the SUVs I have owned, 2 of them being the previous generation Durango, this is the best by far. Other's include GMC Suburban, Honda Pilot, and Jeep Grand Cherokee. My Durango is AWD, 5.7 powered and has all options with the exception of the flip down TV. (My last Durango had this opition and was never used in 85,000 miles of driving) I had owned this vehicle for a couple of months before heading out on a 2K plus mile trip from DFW to Lexington, KY and back last Christmas and it had 1200 miles on the odo when I left. I knew the highway fuel milage would get better as the miles increased and indeed it did. I averaged 20.3mpg on the trip north, with 3 adults and our luggage, enough clothes to last us 12 days. Luggage storage was not an issue, nor was the numerous Christmas gift packages already wrapped. On the return trip, the mileage went up to 21.8, carrying the same load, driving at or slightly above the posted speed limits. I recently took it on a work trip from DFW to Toledo, loaded with enough luggage to carry 2 weeks of clothing for one person. This time the trip north netted 22.3 average, with a high of 23.7. The return trip netted an average of 22.4 and included some stop and go traffic in Arkansas that created an hour delay between Memphis and Little Rock. Without the stop and go, I sincerely believe the return mileage could have been 23 plus, a phenomonal number for a vehicle this size with AWD and 360 hp. I use this SUV to pull an 18 foot open, aluminum car trailer, with either a C6 Corvette, or a Honda CRX Si, to and from track events. Mileage towing averages in the 14 to 15 mpg range. It has plenty of power and torque to pull either vehicle, and is hardly noticable in terms of drivability. Overall, this is an excellent SUV and I would reccommend it to anyone with a desire or need for a semi luxury SUV. The interior and options provided with the Citadel model is well worth the extra few bucks in my opinion, and certainly enhances the driving pleasure of this vehicle."

"I bought a used 2012 Dodge Durango Crew a few months ago. I picked the Dodge for one reason, it had all the options we wanted at an affordable price point. The explorer didn't have push button start, auto liftgate, or the tow package I needed in the XLT package. I also wanted home-link, as well as auto A/C which my truck had. I can't believe Ford didn't include Homelink with the XLT. I didn't realize how quite the Durango ride was until I got back into our 2006 Honda Pilot. I also use the auto liftgate all the time, very handy to have. Radio has been very straight forward with the exception of the Ipod connections, bluetooth sounds muttled. The rest like phone pairing was simple. I have used every feature and really appreciate auto climate controls for front and rear. My only complaint is the transmission gearing. It feels and drives like a truck. No pep, very truck-like. If they nail this new 8 speed tranny next May, I would like to trade up for that if it makes the truck have better throttle response. The rest of the Durango is perfect, don't change a thing! Thanks Dodge!"

"I have to say I am very disappointed with my 2012 Durango R/T. Its had alignment issues(took 8 times for the dealer to get it right), and the steering wheel has a wobble in it. Go on the forumns and you will see these are very common problems. In my month and a half of ownership(3500kms) the vehicle has been in the shop for almost half of that. The Hemi is a gas guzzler around town(my own fault as I knew this before purchase) and the stereo system is terrible. There is nothing premium about it as the bass and midbass are non existant. The amount of rattles and squeeks in this new vehicle blows my mind(doors, dash, roof liner). I'm scared to think of how bad this unit will annoy me at 20000kms if it is already this bad. From the lot the shocks were very stiff but they appear to be softening up as the ride has got a little smoother. I ordered the Mopar molded splash guards and the fronts are a terrible fit with a large gap in them. Outside of the exterior looks, towing capacity and V8 power this vehicle is a disappointment. When you read all of the so called expert reviews you think this vehicle is the real deal. However this is far from the truth, as the above issues start showing up very quickly. I would not purchase another Durango if I could do it all over again."

"I and my wife looked, test drove at least 8 different SUV type vechicles .What a job that was,I don't like car shopping. After 40 years of marriage ,I have been buying my wife cars a long TIME.This is the ONLY SUV she'll try. We got her in The drivers seatAnd after a couple of trips Around the Dealerships lot,she was ready to fly(drive). We took her out on the hi way and she loved being up off the ground saying she could see what was around her while driving down the road. She loved all the toys the Crew Model has.I personally don't like 4-wheelers,I drive a tractor trailer 75'long with my trailer of 53'in length and have 2-steps up to get in.The Durango is just the right hight no step needed !!!! To sum it all up we are very happy with our new 2012 Dodge Durango,Crew. Buy this one,the extra $10,000 for the Citidal is a waste. The Crew meets and exceeded our expectations, gret Value for the money. Mr & Mrs. Lightfoot,Southwest,Pa."
