"We go the car used in 2010. It had the best styling we thought since it's based off of the Avenger. We were okay about the power, but not so much about the fuel economy. We bought a dodge because it's what we can afford. Just recently the car began to over heat. We got this fixed twice, but it was the dealers fault because the put in the wrong part. On the highway it has a really good ride. Sometimes, if your on a highway and your cruising up a hill you will definitely have to push the car. Honestly, the car has the best acceleration I have ever seen on a SUV. We regret buying the first year of production of the car, but we might consider buying a Dodge Journey again we actually love this car."

"I bought my 09 Journey Pre-Owned Certified one year ago. I've had to take it for new rotors, which ok that could be considered regular maintenance. the garage door opener in the visor quite working. A month ago the car started blowing white smoke out of the tail pipe. We took it to the get it checked out. We were told we needed an oil change and a new intake air manifold. One week later the dome lights started flickering, the radio controls on the steering went out. Then, the car died. We jumped it and the mileage reset itself. The car died again after the first jump. We took it to the service department again. This time it is the instrument cluster the was putting out to high a voltage and draining the battery. I'm very unsatisfied. After having the car for only a year and it's pre-owned certified this shouldn't be happening. Unreliable and not a deal at all! I won't be getting a Dodge again nor will I ever recommend one to anyone. Oh and I even call Chrysler corp to see if they would consider having it fixed for free. I've gotten the run around and been told that because of the mileage and it isn't under warranty no one can do anything. I guess Dodge can only gaurantee their cars will work for a year or two maybe."

"I bought this car thinking it would be a great family car. For two small kids, it is generally comfortable, however, I agree that the third row is largely useless. Entertainment system is a nice bous. My biggest issue is the overall reliability of the car. It has been in the shop for numerous issues - brakes and rotors several times, steering column, random noises that could not be accurately diagnosed, starter issues. My current problem is the all wheel drive, which apparently had a hole in it, caused my entire transmission to shut down. Even better, the part is back ordered, so the dealership can't tell me at this point when my car will be fixed. This is the last of a long string of times my car will be out of commission, as I will be switching to Ford to have a car that I can count on."

"The only problem that I have is that it is not hybrid. I have a 2X4 therefore it spend gas similar to a sedan. But it is very spacius, I got it with 30000 for $15000 and I could not find a better deal for this SXT. For the last 3 month loving it."

"I bought this SUV new in 2009 and have had zero trouble with it. True, it is not a Lexus, but it is also less than half the price of a Lexus. I have the V6 and get a realistic 16-18MPG in town and 24-27MPG on the open road. I would highly suggest the Journey to anyone looking for a nice economical mid-sized SUV."

"Great car so far. My only complaint is that it's not very comfortable to drive. I'm on the shorter side (5'1) and it's difficult finding a comfortable seat position. Other than that, I like it."

"I am not one to write reviews, however my life is affected every day because of this car. I have had my car for two years now, and It has been in the shop 12 times and most of those times for numerous issues. I have tried to claim it a lemon but due to lemon laws it states that there needs to be a consecutive 3 times for the same problem, however I have had the electrical, stearing, tv, roaters, windows, more electical, rear wheels and now a recall with the front door panel air bag that has been on back order for 3 months. So no I do not have a consecutive 3 things.... Just recetly I was driving and all of a sudden all the warning lights came on flashing and beeping, the windshield wippers came on evern tho they were not turned on and would not shut off the navigation screen shut down, and the blinkers would not work. IT was terrifying to drive down a busy highway with that going on... Each time I reach out to the dealership, they say "we understand your frustration" but nothing comes from it. Now, my warrently is up so anything further that happens I am completley out of luck!!! I would rather drive a run down used car then deal with thhis any further. Do not buy this car!"

"I bought my 2009 Journey new and it now has over 42K miles on it and is now out of warranty. I replaced the front AND rear brakes before 25K miles. The silly little rearview/watch-your-kids mirror has been replace 4 (FOUR!) times and I still use a matchbook to keep it closed. I replaced the battery (which, by the way, is located in the front wheel well!) only to discover that my battery wasn't the problem. I still don't know why it won't start sometimes (like a couple of times a week) and I am still waiting for it to finish breaking down so that I can show the dealership that it is indeed not working. I have also had my horn (Yes, my horn!) replaced TWICE. There is also a short somewhere in my alarm that no one can find. My alarm will start blaring randomly when I go to disarm the car and no amount of button pushing or pleading will make it turn off. I end up having to pull the fuse under the hood! (Talk about embarassing in a parking lot full of people!) I thought all the extra storage bins would be handy, but most of them won't open and close properly. I will say that I like the room, the overall look, and the get-up-and-go of my Journey. I have the V6 and it gets reasonable gas mileage. (19-20 mpg) I like the stereo and the 6 disc player. But, all in all, I am VERY disappointed in this vehicle and only wish I'd done more research before buying it! I'll be trading it in as soon as I can!"
