"I almost bought this truck about 2 weeks ago until I took up a rare deal I just couldnt pass up. It has some war marks but mechanically it is sound and its a solid truck. As all used cars will my mecanic said down the road some things will need attention but thats something you cant get away from in any used car over 5 years old. So if you get this checked out and find some issues dont let that scare you away trust me on this, if you do you will never find a car. I highly recomend this truck and you wont be left with any expensive surprises. Its a great truck, drive it at highway spees and it couldnt drive any better. Its verry reliable and doenst require much. I say you should check this truck out."

"My husband wanted this truck new in 2002 because of it's awesome tough looks. We have the 5.7 with oversize 20" wheels, short-bed single-cab with chrome running boards - all in black with leather interior and tinted windows. It is the ultimate manly, power truck. It turns heads where ever it appears. You know, people are thinking, " Who is going to step out of that bad ride" It is supremely confortable for the passenger because of the excellent high bucket seats and spacious legroom. You couldn't have equal if you were sitting at home in your best chair. We have the slide-out steps that are invisible until the door is opened, which make entry and exit easy on this tall vehicle. We have the slick cap top on the back and a scratch free bedliner. I don't know how many times we have driven it to Walmart and returned with a full load of landscaping stones, mulch, and everything we need for a summers landscaping. But the reason I agreed to buy the truck in the first place was because of it size, weight and safety features. We paid extra for side curtain airbags for the head. I wanted the safest truck for defensive driving on the always dangerous roads full of big trucks and SUVs. Last year we were returning from Walmart at night when a huge deer took that very moment to leap from the hillside into the road right in front of us. Blam! Tall front grill and hood on Ram truck knocked deer into the median. Impact didn't even slow down the the truck. I am sure if we had been in a car of any kind or a smaller truck we would have been at great risk that the deer would have only been knocked off it's feet and into windshield. Replaced front grill and bent fender instead of teeth. Very good bargain."

"I love my 2002 Dodge Ram 1500 2x4. It was my very first brand new vehicle and I could only afford the base ST edition. However it had automatic transmission, ice cold AC (very important here in Phoenix), AM-FM Cassette stereo, power brakes and steering. Manual windows and door locks. I "splurged" for the slider rear window and under rail RAM bedliner. I have 99,000 plus miles on this truck and I only now had to have the brakes replaced. Other than that I have just followed the maintenance schedule and it just purrs like a kitten. I can't believe the smoothness and power of the 3.7 liter magnum. Admittedly a V8 would be better for the mountains but I mostly drive on flat ground. All in all I love this truck."

"I bought this truck new in early '03 from a dealer. No problems while under factory warranty, but numerous problems since. Now have 125,000 miles and have replaced front carrier assemblies twice, instrument cluster, fuel pump, exhaust system, brakes three times, most front end/suspension parts and drivers heated seat system. Only routine service required on engine (oil, filters, serpentine belt) and transmission - both have been trouble-free. Am on third set of tires (Cooper makes a nice 20 inch replacement that rides/wears well). Mileage has been poor, even for a 5.9 liter with AT, averaging 12 MPG at 55 MPH on cruise control. Interior design and features are outstanding - car like comfort on long trips, and very good use of interior space. Quad cab/short bed combo is, to me, very attractive design. An '09 is just slightly more visually attractive to me. Am starting to lose the body panel corrosion fight, not a big shock in northern NH salt environment. Would buy another, though used. New ones are just too much money. Would recommend to others, with cautions regarding operating and maintenance costs. This is one vehicle where an extended warranty is probably a good investment. The factory lifetime drive-train warranty on newer units is a great feature. Overall, I'm satisfied with this truck and plan to run it until it dies."
