"Ive had my dodge ram 1500 lariat for a couple months. It is comfortable and all the bells and whistles are a true delight. It has fit my work and lifestyle fantastically. The only downside is the mileage. It is not great, but aside from that one drawback the power and driving comfort is amazing."

"I had a Nissan Pathfinder and 07 Chevy Tahoe and the RAM is by far the best vehicle I have ever driven. The Tahoe was a disappointment, the old 4sp tranny and its weak 5.3 had to go. Rear suspension was jumpy and couldnt handle the corners. It is a big SUV but the 2nd row leg room was minimal and the 3rd row was just garbage. I test drove the ram and fell in love with it in an instant. It has great power, roomy cabin, comfortable ride and the styling of the ex/inteterior is top notch. I used to struggle going up and down of the moutain road with the tahoe cuz of its weak 5.3 and ancient 4spd but with the RAM i was astonished how well it handled the uphills. One complaint i have is the 5spd tranny, it works fine and drives good but wished RAM offered the 6spd tranny. I loaded this truck with more than its weight rate but the truck handled it well. i was surprised how well the ram handled the load and the u haul trailer i was pulling. i strongly recommend this truck, i know lots of people who are loyal to a certain car brand but i think thats total ignorance we should buy the vehicle by its quality regardless of the brand. I have a friend who is a 'chevy' man and bough the Silverado. Honestly it does not match up to the ram at all. it still has ancient 5.3 with no power, no sway control system, no hill assist, no power outlet as it is standard on the ram, back seat is crampy like a compacct sedan, interior is cheap and my friend is regreting it. it does have 6spd tranny which is great but the engine is just too weak. I think the new Ford is much better than the Silverado. Stop being a chevy or ford or dodge man and go out and test drive these trucks and buy what you think performs the best."

"I've had this truck for about 6 months now and this truck has been ok. The Hemi is a good motor, but the quality of the Ram isn't very good. Every other week a new rattle or squeak comes up. Oh, and did I mention that the bumper is RUSTING!!!! I will definitely buy a Ford or Chevy next time."

"I know this review is supposed to be specific, but i think the title of it says it all. This pickup is so refined it's scary. I drove 5 brands of trucks when it was time for a new one - the new Dodge RAM design was light years ahead of the others. Chevy drives and handles like a cheap car, Ford drives like an underpowered bathtub on wheels, Nissan had wobbly suspension on corners and the Toyota just looked and felt cheap but cost more than the others! The 2009 RAM is powerful, nimble, comfortable, sharp and economically priced - best bang for the buck. One claim from Ford confused me - they made minimal changes to the engine and drive train designs from '08 to '09, yet in '08 they said the truck could tow 8k lbs, but in '09 it can tow 11k lbs.(?). Something doesn't seem right there. In any case, if you need a truck to tow more than 9k lbs as the RAM can, you need an HD or you'll end up with other suspension issues over time - regardless of manufacturer. I've read some of the bad reviews here and just don't understand how anyone could have that kind of experience with this truck. Buy a RAM, you absolutely won't be dissappointed."
