"I've had this truck for about 6 months now and this truck has been ok. The Hemi is a good motor, but the quality of the Ram isn't very good. Every other week a new rattle or squeak comes up. Oh, and did I mention that the bumper is RUSTING!!!! I will definitely buy a Ford or Chevy next time."

"I know this review is supposed to be specific, but i think the title of it says it all. This pickup is so refined it's scary. I drove 5 brands of trucks when it was time for a new one - the new Dodge RAM design was light years ahead of the others. Chevy drives and handles like a cheap car, Ford drives like an underpowered bathtub on wheels, Nissan had wobbly suspension on corners and the Toyota just looked and felt cheap but cost more than the others! The 2009 RAM is powerful, nimble, comfortable, sharp and economically priced - best bang for the buck. One claim from Ford confused me - they made minimal changes to the engine and drive train designs from '08 to '09, yet in '08 they said the truck could tow 8k lbs, but in '09 it can tow 11k lbs.(?). Something doesn't seem right there. In any case, if you need a truck to tow more than 9k lbs as the RAM can, you need an HD or you'll end up with other suspension issues over time - regardless of manufacturer. I've read some of the bad reviews here and just don't understand how anyone could have that kind of experience with this truck. Buy a RAM, you absolutely won't be dissappointed."

Worst Truck Ever

"Where to begin...I purchased a brand new 09 Dodge Ram 1500 out of the show room last year. It was the TRX package and appeared to be Dodge's best truck yet, so I thought. I'll begin by listing every problem I've had so far: For starters the fender flares and roof rubber came unglued, the driver's seat came loose from the floor while I was driving it, the brake peddle began to swing sideways while I was towing a 4,000lb boat downhill, the passenger seat came loose from the floor, the stichting came out of the backseat when never used, there is vibration in the gas peddle, the check engine lights goes on and off as well as the ETC light, and the cab of the truck started creaking terribly while turning. Now, to elaborate on the brake. Once the peddle started swinging sideways I took it into the dealership and they replaced the bushings and peddle assembly, this took one week. I finally got a call and was told CHRYSLER DEEMED IT UNDRIVABLE until the entire brake assembly was replaced. This took another 3 1/2 weeks!! As for the cab creaking, the body to chassis bolts were not torqued to spec from the factory. All bolts were 3/4 turn loose from spec. After talking with the dealer, the conclusion was that they could care less that this was an unsafe vehicle to operate for day to day transportation. I wrote chrysler a letter listing all of the issues and their response: "We are sorry you are having problems with your truck, try another dealer" I also stated this truck was unsafe and problems were non stop. My advise, buy a Chevy or Ford. It's obvious Dodge still can make a decent truck with quality, and worst of all, they don't care if their customers that keep them in business are satisfied. This is my second Dodge. I had on 07 and ended up having transmission problems with it."

"THIS TRUCK HAS A VERY SMOOTH RIDE AND HAS OUTSTANDING OPERATING FEATURES. THE INTERIOR HAS MORE SPACE AND COMFORT ITEMS THAN THE OTHERS I TESTED. THE HEMI ENGINE IS MORE RESPONSIVE AND PROVIDES GOOD GAS MILAGE ON THE ROAD. WHILE DRIVING MY LINE OF VISION BOTH FORWARD, SIDE AND REAR IS ALMOST PERFECT,"

"I purchased a new 2009 dodge ram. Loved the truck initially for its looks, apparent performance and comfort. Primarily for recreational use. The truck has proven to be a huge dissapointment. After only 29000km, our problems started with the driveshaft falling off, yes, falling off while driving. Since then, 3 differentials have been replaced...still whining and the dealer and Chrysler are stumped over the cause. In addition to tie rods being replaced, faulty fuel sending unit and gas cap sensor, in the last month it has been in the shop for about 3 weeks and still not completely repaired. I have not, and would not recommend this truck. We paid new price for a reliable truck and did not get our money's worth. Now need extened warranty so I don't get soaked until I can get rid of it."

"JUST PURCHASED A NEW 2009 DODGE 1500 CREW CAB AND I REALLY LIKE IT. DODGE PUT A LOT OF THOUGHT INTO THIS TRUCK AND LISTED TO IT'S CUSTOMER. THE LITTLE THINGS ADD UP SUCH AS THE STORAGE UNDER SEAT, IN FLOOR COOLERS,2 GLOVE BOX'S ARE JUST A FEW THINGS NOT TO FORGET THE HEMI RUNS ON 4 OR 8 IF YOU NEED TO GET OUT OF THE WAY 0 TO 60 IN ABOUT SIX SECONDS AND MINE IS JUST THE BIG HORN PACKAGE. LET ME SAY BEFORE YOU BUY IT IS WORTH YOUR TIME TO TAKE A LOOK AT YOUR LOCAL DODGE DEALERSHIP. PLUS A LIFE-TIME POWER TRAIN WARRANTY IT'S GREAT."

"I have been a die hard Ford fan for years, but this new Ram has me converted. What is not to like? This thing has everything but the kitchen sink and pulls like a steer with a rope around it's neck! Classy styling inside and out and a ride quality on par with some older Caddy's I have driven. Get pass the gadgets and get to the nuts and bolts. 390 hp and the worse I have done in the city is just shy of 14mpg. Get it on the highway and cruise, 21 plus mpg. Need to get around or away from someone or thing? This truck does it with knock your socks off performance. Dodge took a truck that was losing the battle and created the proverbial Phoenix rising. It is the best 1/2 ton truck ever built and the best looking in years."

"So far this thing is a credit to Dodge and their design team,it has a level of comfort, features, and ride quality not before seen in Ram ( or others) and it delivers the power in a more fuel efficient way, plus the extra storage features that Dodge throws in are a nifty bonus when needed. It's obvious that these guys are serious about earning your truck business after experiencing one."

"I wasnt really in the market for a new truck, but the incentives on the new Dodges were amazing! I have owned this truck for just over 30 days now and it exceeded my expectations by a long shot. The interior design and finish is heads and shoulders above my 2008 Ram. I looked at Ford and Chevy too and couldn't find a truck with as many options for anything under $35K. The Hemi's power is addictive, (70HP better than Ford's 5.4L). I would recommend this truck to family and friends, Dodge has hit this one out of the park!"
