Vehicle Overview

The mid-engine two-seat Ferrari 458 Italia is radical looking from any angle. From the front, the trailing headlight LEDs and strange slits in the bodywork are completely original. While they're unique, they still speak to the Ferrari faithful.

Far more provocative, however, is the rear and its bulging fenders. The profile view is probably the one that's most distressing to Ferrari fans because the back half looks enormous compared to the hood.

The car's 4.5-liter V-8 engine is good for 570 horsepower and a zero-to-62-mph time of 3.4 seconds. A seven-speed dual-clutch transmission is controlled only by paddle shifters on the racing-inspired steering wheel, and dual electronic gauges frame a center tachometer. Because the engine sits behind the seats, the car's weight is balanced 42/58, front to rear, which should make for fun days at the track.
