"THE FORD E SERIES IS THE BEST SELLING VAN FOR THREE DECADES HOLDING A LIONS SHARE OF THE MARKET OF 79.5 % THEY CAME WITH AN OPTIONAL 5.8L 351CI WINDOR MOTOR MOST YEARS WHICH COULD BE BUILT TO PRODUCE 290 HP OR MORE.... THE INTERIORS ARE WELL DESIGNED AND DO NOT DETERIORATE OR FALL APART, FORD PIONEERED THE VAN AND THE WINDSOR ONTARIO MOTOR GOT THE JOB DONE LIKE IT DID FOR 40 YEARS UNTIL 1997 WHEN FORD ENGINEERING REPLACED WITH A STOCK 5.4 330CI MOTOR WHICH PRODUCES 235 HP A MODULAR DESIGN WHICH IS MAKING A NAME FOR ITSELF AS A RELIABLE AND CONSISTENT MOTOR AS WELL.......THERE IS NO MPG INCREASE ACCORDING TO RATINGS FOR THE SMALLER MOTORS.....SO IF YOU TOWE OR DRIVE LONG DISTANCES GET THE REAL MOTOR OR EVEN LARGER I HAVE OWNED SEVERAL AND HAVE A 1996 AND NOW DRIVE AN 03 EITHER ONE EATS UP THE HIGHWAY AND GETS 19MPG TRY TO DO BETTER IN A COMPETITOR VERSION"

"I bought the E-150 new and had numerous problems with the transmission (E4OD) and every time I took it in to have it checked (under warranty) I was told there was nothing wrong with the tranny. I took it in so many times to have repairs done that the area Ford Rep, told me not to ever bring it in to a Ford dealer for repairs. I was jerked around until my warranty was no longer honored. I have since had a local transmission repair shop build it w/o using Ford parts. No problems since rebuild was done. The engine experienced serious over revving problems and Ford said the engine could not over rev as they have an over rev limiter on the engine. I had the oil analyzed after one of the over revving experiences and it showed the oil was totally destroyed (oxidized). This doesn't happen under normal operating conditions. Ford treated me really bad on this vehicle."
