"I was looking for a larger car/suv since my kids have gotten older and bigger. I loved the look of the new Explorer and have previously owned several Fords. I found a 2011 Ford demo model and was able to get what I thought was a great deal. I've only had it for 6 weeks but I do love it! The body style is eye catching and the interior is roomy and very comfortable. We took it to Florida 2 weeks after we bought it and got 24 mpg, which I thought was pretty good considering the size of the vehicle. The car is air tight and very comfortable to drive - you don't hear anything outside!! It's great for our family and I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a larger SUV."

"I love the looks of the new explorer! I bought a 2011 XLT 4x4 with the tow package. It preforms very well and is So Comfortable! I bought my Explorer in Kona Blue, which is so beautiful! I have the touch screen which works well. The navigation is slow sometimes, but it does get you to from A to B. Even with all the seats up, you do have some room in the "trunk." Overall, I love this SUV, and I would recommend to to everyone!"

"I followed the auto magazine reviews of the re-designed Ford Explorer and decided that I would buy one in 2011. I opted for a loaded Explorer Limited and have not regretted the decision. It is comfortable to drive, gets good fuel economy and has some hi tech features that make it very safe to drive. My first car in 1964 was a used 1950 Ford coupe and I have owned several in the intervening years including 2 full-sized Broncos, an F350 pickup, a 1999 Ford Explorer, and a Lincoln Aviator."

"Lets begin with the looks. Ford did improve the exterior styling of the Explorer, but The Jeep Grand Cherokee looks way better in my opinion. The interior of the Ford looks nice, but if the Ford touch system stops working who cares... Also for you tall guys I'm 6'8" and feel amazing in the Grand Cherokee my head doesn't touch the ceiling now that's rare, while in the Ford Explorer there is less front head room."

"The Ford Explorer is a great looking SUV...however, it has much to be desired. The interior is also very appealing. I have the AWD Limited model...it has a shake in the front end on acceleration. It lacks a tilt steering wheel and I hate the permanent tilt of the wheel. Now the worst part...The My Ford Touch system continuously locks up, which makes the radio and climate controls unusable. I have to disconnect the battery to make it work (as advised by the dealer sales personnel). This is unacceptable for a new $50k+ vehicle."

"i'm in a bad place, I want to love this my Explorer, but the MyTouch system is so unstable, and yields the car unusable so often, it makes me angry. Handsfree phone mic is horrible, nobody can understand me when I make calls. Backup camera sticks on for as much as 10 miles down the road, which means no nave, radio, etc. Nav system never finds addresses or businesses, but services tab does, but 1/3of the time my phone won't pair so no services. Been thru several software updates, nada. Have to stop writing, I'm getting mad again!"

"I recently bought the Explorer XLT, the ride is comfortable and the response is great. the commodity of the mytouch system seems complicated at the beginning, but once you get used to it, it becomes your best friend. The vehicle is a real nice product, not only because of its looks, but also because it really feels right when you drive it."

"I got the xlt explorer. I had it a few months and im still happy, so far so good no problems. It has plenty of power and torque so it will get you right down on the highway. I average about 20 mpg a tank which is better than my old Envoy that got 15mpg. I also love the sunroof and the sync feature."
