"This is the Supercab XL model with the puny 4.6. I boght a 1982 F150 new and had a 1992 XLT for 9 years. The 82(140k at sale) was the least reliable and worst designed of the three. The XLT(170k at sale) was a good design, comfortable, with a terrific engine and xmission. The 5.8 and A40D never gave a problem, though I fixed many other things on it. All power accessories were still working when I sold it. This XL is simpler than the XLT of course, but at 90k I haven't had to fix anything mechanical yet. No trouble codes, either. Biggest positive is the interior. Biggest negative is the reliable but underpowered 4.6."

"Love driving this truck. Lariat supercab in two-tone paint(dark red / beige). Quiet cab, precise steering, and easy to read intruments. Have low milage, but concerned about having plugs changed in future( two piece design that are hard to get out without breaking). The supercab( extended cab) and six and a half foot box is the perfect size. A well balanced truck all the way around."

"Purchase vehicle new in Oct 2006. Nice looking but nothing but trouble. Replaced transmission at 71,000 miles. Has never towed anything! Previously had a Expedition which had transmission troubles at 37,000 miles. Never any hep from Ford other than dealer wanted to overcharge. Replaced spark plugs at 100K. Costs $1,000 because of faulty design in plugs and motor. Bad power window motor which needs to be replaced. Bad air conditioner whichis making noise. Never buy one of these!"

"The service of this dealership is poor. I went to look at a vehicle that I saw on here. When I arrived at the dealership I had to find a sales person. First off the salesman made me feel as though I interrupted his time on his computer. There was nobody else there to look at vehicles. He said maybe two words during a test drive. Absolutely no help what so ever. I called back a week later to make an offer on the vehicle. No return call. The economy obviously hasn't effected them and they don't need the business."

"I have always owned Ford trucks and recently purchased a 2006 F-150 with 80k miles from a Ford dealership. Shortly after buying the truck, it started running horribly so I took it into the dealership (under warranty) where I was charged $250. for them to diagnose that I needed new spark plugs. They wanted to charge me $1100. just to change plugs!!! I took it to another shop to have the plugs changed becuase they quoted me $450. They broke off 2 plugs in the truck while changing them and it took them over a week to get them out. Ford of course wont pay for this even though it should've been recalled! The dealership conveniently forgot to mention this to me as well. It's apparently a very popular problem with this year truck. Also, when i got the truck, it was averaging 17mpg, and now it is at 12mpg even with new plugs. I have also had problems with the front end staying aligned no matter how many times they do an alignment and tell me everything looks fine. I definitely would NOT recomend this truck to a friend."

"I am thoroughly impressed with this truck. My last Tundra was totalled in an accident a couple of weeks ago. I decided to buy my current '06 F-150 because of the low miles (62k), the lift kit that was already installed, and the tow pack. This truck is extemely stout and solid. I have put 2,000 miles on it in a little over a week alone and I am blown away at the way this truck drives and tows. I believe that I can count on this truck to take care of me and my needs for many years and miles to come."

MOST HORRIBLE TRUCK I'VE EVER OWNED!

"I bought my 2006 Ford 150 4x4 with the triton engine. I have owned my truck now for 4 years. It was used when I purchased it. It has 65 thousand miles on it. It now has 160 thousand. I have had no problems with this truck until here lately. It's been cutting out while driving it down the road. Took it to a mechanic. He said it needed the plugs changed. Ok no big deal right? Oh how wrong I was in that assumption. To replace the plugs can cost anywhere to 2 to 4 thousand dollars depending if the plugs break off while changing them. Really what's up FORD??? Who can afford a pricey fix like that? Getting ready to trade my Ford in on something else but I guarentee you it will NOT be a FORD product. So dissapointed! Why hasn't Ford has a recall on this. The mechanic told me it was the 2004 to 2006 that has this problem. I won't buy another vehicle from the dealership I bought this truck from either. They convientley didn't tell me about the plugs being so pricey to change out. Horrible dissapointed in this make and model."

"Bought 2006 FX4 new and drove it for over 5 years. Changed the oil when due, new wipers, and had Ford check it out once a year. The only thing I ever had to have done was a new battery (which was still working fine when I changed it after 5 years -- but being a woman I didn't want to ever worry about it just going so changed it early.) After driving all different makes - no other comes close to the Ford F150 - FX4 - it had the best pick-up, best comfort, best AC hands down!!! (Living in South Florida I put that to the test!)"
