"I bought this car new. It has never given me a moments problem. I maintain it regularly and it now has 133,000 kms. It is such a reliable car I am almost scared to sell it. It handles beautifully, quiet, great highway car and easy in the city, excellent fuel economy. It is black and looks fabulous after I have polished it. I can honestly say, I LOVE this car!"

"I bought my focus brand new in 2006. I loved this car. It handled great, had more get up and go than others in its class. I also liked all the features and body style since I bought the sport package with upgraded body style and premium sound. October of 2010 is when this car started going downhill majorly... The alternator failed. I had it replaced with a Ford rebuilt. Three months later, it failed again and was replaced. The second failure killed my battery, so I replaced that as well. March of this year I go to start my car and its dead. I got it jumped. The cables were loose so I assumed that was the cause and went on my way. Three weeks later it died again. Charged it. It died two more times. Garage couldn't find anything wrong...assumed it was a faulty battery. Put a new battery in...worked for one day then died again... The garage thinks there is an intermittent draw on the battery, which is going to take a while to find seeing as how the car "behaves" at the shop. I'm fed up with not having reliable transportation so I'm getting rid of it...thinking its another faulty alternator. Only 52,000 miles on it too. Such a shame. It used to be a nice, dependable car. I'm hoping I just had major bad luck with this car. I know people who have this car and have had no problems. I guess take this review as you will, but my suggestion is be wary of alternator problems!"

"This is the best car that I have ever driven because the great fuel economy (above 30 mpg), the comfort, the reliability and price! The car has great features. The audio from even the standard speakers is fantastic. I like the CD holder below the steering wheel for storage. The car has great acceleration and braking, although it can feel a little spongy at times. Another thing that I do not like about the car is that there are no head rests in the back, so if I get in a fender bender with passengers in the back, they could have whip lash. The truck is absolutely cavernous and so is the leg room in the front. Although I myself am not tall, my tall father easily fits in it. The speedometer and such is easily read and available. The seats in the front and back are very comfortable. The interior noise is a little loud, but for the price, I cannot complain to much. I highly recommend this vehicle."

"I have owned two Ford Focus 2006 4-dr hatchbacks (ZX5), and there is very little I do not _love_ about them. The gas mileage is fine, the ride is excellent (especially with top-quality Goodyears), handling terrific, and enough go-juice to accelerate out of trouble (with one or two people aboard). Rear legroom is OK, but I use it like a pickup, with the rear seats down all the time, and it has surprisingly large cargo capacity this way. I wish Ford stll made Focus hatchbacks! If the rear seat were only better illuminated by the interior light, that is one thing I long for."

"I bought my 2006 Focus ZX5 new. I drive ALOT of miles daily to work and have over 95,000 miles at this time. I get anywhere from 28-30 mpg depending on my foot! I have had little problems with this car until lately. Just replaced the Alternator last week, my middle console two big wheels did come off and my keys got stuck in the ignition several months ago. The key issue was resolved with a shifter. All these items occured after 80,000 miles! I enjoy this car, its roomy and can carry alot of cargo. I just want to know if anyone has one with over 100,000 miles on it and it's dependabilty."

"So far I was very happy with my 2006 Ford Focus. Up until now, I did not have much to complain about, but yesterday, my key got stuck in the ignition and it will not come out, although, it does start. I did a little research online, and this is an ongoing problem with the Ford Focus. I will be taking it to my dealer to get it fixed, but unfortunately, according to the research I have done, this may happen again as it is a faulty cilynder, and although it is currently under warranty, when its replaced, its replaced with the same type of cylinder, which is faulty. Also, when driving on the freeway on a windy day, the car does get pushed around a bit. Other than that, I really did love my car. I am now more concerned about where I may be at when my keys get jammed in the ignition or not fit in it at all. Do research on this and you will see this is a common problem. I wish I would have known this before I got my car.... But other than that, so far not bad."

"I have the 2006 Ford Focus zx4 se sedan automatic. Next month will be 3 years I have it and I have almost 32000 miles on it. Not bad. Comfortable and no major problems. Fuel economy is terrible. I do have a heavy foot and I have taken this into consideration but yesterday I filled up on gas after driving 15 miles the needle was almost at the 3/4 mark. Maybe the fuel gauge is broken - I usually get 180 miles of city driving and 280 highway driving. Not good. I just took it in to ford for 30000 mile service and they charged me almost $600 and there were no other issues. The two big wheels on the center console came off and Ford wanted to charge me over $200 to replace it. Something like that should be covered under warranty. Anyway - good car not great and don't believe the hype re: fuel economy."

"This car has been in the shop SOOOO many times. I bought this car brand new, right off the lot with only 22 miles on it. I have regretted it from about month 3!! It is on its 3rd Alternator...which they don't make a big point of telling you it only has a 12,000 mile warranty. Had its first one at about 23,000 miles. Had to get the gear shift indicator replaced. Rotars replaced at about 33,000 miles...brakes started squeeling at 20,000 but they told me all cars squeel like that....sorry I was the only one in the pick up line at school embarrased at how LOUD it was. Now my radio and all lights on radio just shut off while driving...oh yeah and not to mention...I've driven this car with no keys in the ignition either! But they can't find ANYTHING wrong with it?!?! WORST CAR EVER!!!!"
