"Let me start off by saying i bought a 08 focus in may and sadly i got into a bad accident in august and thankfully i was driving alone in my focus. the car saved my life. i can say first hand that the car is very safe if i was in any other car i may not be able to write this. the accident was unavoidable but thankfully because of the proper insurance i had the car payed off and i had enough money left over to put a down payment on another new 08 focus. i love these cars, i hope i never get into another accident but if somthing happens im glad im in a foucs."

"I would never recommend this piece of garbage to anyone. It is horrible in every category. It runs really bad. The engine makes too much noise and the driving is just pathetic"

"I've owned my 2008 Focus since March of '08 and have just over 8,000 miles on it. Most of my driving is done on 2-lane highways with speed limits of 55 MPH. I'm getting 32 to 34 MPH with an an automatic transmission. From the very first I was impressed with its pickup. If I need to pass a slowpoke car, of which there are plenty on the roads I travel, my pretty little red Focus jumps into action and gets me past the car and back into my lane without worry. Getting in and out of the car is a breeze because the seats sit high, unlike my previous automobile which sat so low it was downright difficult to get out of. The ease of sliding in and out of the Focus was a major selling point for me. The trunk space is a nice surprise because it's very big, and the fold-down back seats adds additional length space if needed. I have a 4-door mid-grade SE model and find that for the most part the car is user friendly, with a few exceptions. There is no interior light for the backseat. The overhead light is directly over the dashboard and leaves the backseat pretty much in total darkness. There is no way to open the trunk without the key. While it's nice to open the trunk using the key fob, it would be better to also be able to open it with an inside latch. The lights for heat/AC controls on the instrument panel are so little and faint that they don't show up during the day. Also, they are clustered in such a way that it's difficult to use them without taking my eyes off the road for a split second. My complaints are few and don't affect the performance and reliability. If I could back in time and be purchasing a new car again, I would still pick the Focus."

"I bought my little Focus in May and so far i have not had any problems. I have gone on a couple of road trips in it and have to say WOW I average about 30mpg city driving and at its best i had 44 mpg on highway. this is absolutely the best buy ever. The only thing I don't see is the pick up in this car but once you go this car is nice and even and it handles like a charm. I would buy this car again."

"Even though I did not want to trade in my truck, I love this car. For the price I paid this is a great car. I only had two problems, the suspension moans when passengers get in and out of the back, and the passenger door handle did not work right. Both problems were fixed under warranty. Other than those two problems, I have no complaints."

"It's a pretty good little car. I have the 5 spd manual version and it get's great gas mileage for not being a hybrid. It also has a lot of cool features like the Microsoft Sync audio system that allows you to link your bluetooth phone to your car for hands free calls. A few things I don't like: The seats are really high in my opinion and you can't lower them very much (you can't lower the passenger side seat at all) and there was no option for electronic seat controls. There is a female voice that asks you for commands when you push the spoken command button on the steering wheel. This is actually a pretty cool feature but I don't like that you can't change the voice (the current one sounds like my 2nd grade teacher) and there doesn't seem to be any way to permanently set the volume for her voice. I'm hoping that later on there will be an option to upload things like this onto sync but I haven't heard anything to that effect. There's also no coin holder in the arm rest between the driver and passenger seats, and no lights in the back seat area, which I wish was a little bit roomier. Not much get up and go either. A few things I do like: This car seems to be an extremely safe car. Ford/Microsoft really took safety into account when designing the sync system. The more in depth functions on the sync system are disabled when moving more than 3 mph. There was an option for heated leather seats (soo nice in the winter) and also the odometer can be changed to tell you how fuel efficient your car is at the moment and how many miles worth of gas you have left in your tank. Overall, I'm really happy with my purchase."

"I'm averaging 28 - 30 mpg during daily driving, 32 - 34 mpg on the highway. But what's with the calculated mpg, my actual mileage is always 4 - .5 mpg less. Looks and drives like an economy car, which is what it is, so that's what I expected. I traded in my Ranger FX4 for the increased mileage and the Focus gets approx double the mileage."

"In the twelve years I have been driving, I have owned 8 cars. Six of them have been Fords: '93 Escort, '97 Escort, '00 Windstar, '02 Ranger, '03 Explorer, and '08 Focus. I traded in my '03 Explorer on the Focus and have not been disappointed. 37 AVG MPG, SYNC, Satellite Radio, and my baby--a moonroof make this car enjoyable. I do not notice road noise, because the Explorer was a noisy vehicle. For the first time since I owned a '98 Honda Civic, I enjoy driving. Ford really has hit the jackpot with this model year. I would recommend my car to anyone."

"The Sync System is a real plus in this vehicle. It coordinates all devices into an easy to use central communications system. You are able to pay attention to driving and it is much safer than alternative methods of fumbling with cell phones, PDA's and MP3 Players. The Focus SES Model styling is an eye catcher and it is quite responsive, has good pickup, is comfortable and roomy, provides supportive seating, and the trunk space is substantial for it's class. Overall fuel economy is realistically around 27 MPG and your Auto Insurance will be higher than most cars in it's class. Get one when Ford offers rebate incentives of $3000 or more. This Compact Car has grown up!"
