"The Fusion is a comfortable, long-distance cruiser that is packed with features. The base engine delivers acceptable (but no neck-snapping) performance; mated with the standard 5-speed manual, drivers will likely exceed EPA estimates by 2-4 MPG (highway). Emergency handling is very good with the car providing good road feel through the steering wheel and ample warning before the rear kicks out. I do fault the turning radius (you'll use most of a standard road width to do a 180 turn), and the interior styling is a bit dated. Still, this is a great value for the dollar, a reliable form of transportation, and a pleasure to drive."

"I wouldn't be too concerned about the 2010 redesign: the interior has remained essentially unchanged and the exterior is marginally different. However, because of this redesign there are great deals on the 2009 and prior Fusions. I purchased the base S trim level 5-speed and have been extremely impressed with it. Even on the bottom trim level, features such as MP3 input, power windows, door locks, and remote keyless entry came standard. Besides looking great, the car drives very well. The engine is quiet (though using the a/c creates a muted hum) and the drive feel is very well-refined. The car has enough power not to feel lacking, but don't expect to win any drag races either :) I would highly recommend this vehicle to anybody looking for a stylish, reliable, and comfortable car with a reasonable price."

"Just bought a 09 with 4cyl auto with the sport package, blue suede searting, and the sun & sync package for 18K. What a bargain. The car handles great and gets over 32+ mpg on the highway...Whats not to like? Try and get a Camry or Accord comparably equipted for 18K....good luck"

"I initially went to buy a Toyota Camry, but I couldn't pass up the deal on a 2009 Ford Fusion SEL. The Fusion was cheaper than an equivalent Camry and was surprisingly roomy. I paid about $5K under sticker and about $2500 under dealer invoice. I've driven it for about 1000 miles and do not have any complaints. Here's are the CONS: -Weaker acceleration than other 4 cyl. -Noisy exhaust system when accelerating. -Poor visibility when backing up. -Below avg. mpg in city driving.(~20mpg) Here are the PROS: -Great value for the money. -Corners very well. -Responsive steering (feels like a sports car) -Excellent braking. (prevented 1 accident so far!) -Good legroom, about and extra inch compared to other sedans. (I'm 6'5" and a pretty big guy, and fit comfortably) -Transmission shifts smoothly. -Decent Highway mpg (~29mpg) -Handsfree SYNC / Bluetooth is awesome. -SIRIUS radio comes factory installed. -Side curtain airbags are reassuring. -Good safety marks from NHTSA. I bought a new Toyota Camry in 2002 for ~$24K and am pleased with it, but the Fusion so far seems like a great car for the money. Time will tell, but so far...so good. If you are looking for a new car, give Fusion a test drive."
