Consumer Reviews
"We got our 2013 Mustang GT convertible in the perfect combination--red color with six speed manual transmission--for under 32 grand. It feels tight as a drum with no squeaks or rattles. The five liter motor now puts out 420 hp and you can feel it the moment you step on the gas. Every time I accelerate I feel like I'm nineteen again. Gas mileage is very reasonable all things considered at 25 mpg which puts any 60s muscle car to shame. The short throw shifter takes a little getting used to--I tend to go straight from second to fifth because I'm not used to it--but it's perfect for tire-smoking getaways. The styling changes to the head and tail lights for 2013 are a vast improvement over the awkwardness of the previous couple of years. All around, a great car with styling that incorporates the best of the classic Mustangs, along with offering awesome performance and reasonable gas mileage at a great price."

"Most enjoyable car I've owned in my life (female, baby boomer). I haven't had this much fun since my dad let me drive his red Jaguar XJ12 to school, but this one is all mine : ) The dealer worked so hard to get me an Impact Blue GT, and I'm so glad he did. I get so many compliments and people pull up to me on the road all the time with gleaming approval. But its not only a beauty, it's so fun to drive, it responds precisely the way I want it to. With tons of power to spare. If you grew up admiring the many generations of mustangs, you will love the latest and greatest models of this iconic american classic."

"Bought my dream car, 2013 Ford Shelby GT 500, candy red convertible. It is sexy, hot and a beast on the road. Words can not explain the monstrous power (652 hp), or exhilaration of driving such a beauty. Baddest production for us regular folks ! If you can find one and IF the dealer will let you drive it, then you will know what I am talking about. The least the dealer can do is turn the vehicle on so you can hear and feel the exhaust rumble. Fantastic!"

"The 2013 GT with the 5.0 Coyote engine is the best performing Mustang I have ever owned. That all started with a 1966 GT through my most recent 2004 GT."

"I just bought this car new and am very impressed so far. The dealer I bought the vehicle from had some great incentives at the time. Bundled with the active duty military discount it turned out to be an excellent value. Mustang sounds incredible for a V6 and you can feel the engine really kick in at 3000 RPMs. So it's not like a jet launch driving low speed limits and it doesn't seem to lug the engine. Vehicle also doesn't have a break in period so you can drive it however you want fresh off of the lot. Now the only negative about this vehicle are the rear passenger seats. My friends have told me that it's not the most comfortable. For a coupe it's pretty decent but not nearly the amount of space you would expect with a 4 door. I opted for the base model which does seem to lack a couple of features such as heated seats, USB port, and some on board controls but it does come with an auxiliary port so I can plug in my iPod. Everywhere I go I seem to get compliments about the design and the dual exhaust on a V6 makes for a really sweet sounding car. I'm really partial to the 2010 and on designs which made me want to buy this vehicle considering that Ford plans on changing the 70's style design in favor of a more modern look with the 2015 model. I can definitely say for a V6 this packs in a lot of power. I remember my friends sister had a V6 and this is definitely a huge step up from previous years where the V6 was more of a rental car than an actual sports car. Great vehicle and I look forward to many years with it!"

"This is a great car; it looks great, runs great, and is not a fuel hog. The only thing that I miss is storage locations for odds and ends like phones, sunglasses, etc. All in all, a great car."

"My wife and I purchased a 2013 Mustang convertible in June 2012 with the 3.7L V6 305HP engine, 6 speed auto trans, leather seats, 17 inch wheels and the SYNC bluetooth package. It replaced our 2001 Chrysler Sebring LXI convertible that we purchased new and drove for 135K miles. The 2013 Mustang has many improvements over older Mustang convertibles that we rented in the past. The positive features greatly outweigh the few negative issues that we experienced, but we did find a few things that could be improved on the 2013 Mustang convertible design. We recently returned from a 3,000 mile road trip in the new Mustang from Texas to Ohio and back and were thouroughly impressed with the performance, features and fuel economy. The 305 HP and the 6 speed auto trans really makes it easy to get past trucks and slow traffic on the highway. We quickly learned that there are only two cup holders in the Mustang cabin. That might be OK for around town, but a couple more are needed for long road trips. We also found that the Mustang ride is stiffer on the highway at high speed than was the Sebring. This leads to human body fatigue after several hundred miles of high speed interstate travel. That is not too surprising, as the Mustang is a performance car and the Sebring is a touring type car. We learned to live with it, but had to squirm and wiggle in the seats much more than in the Sebring during the multi-day driving adventure. We also added a LovetheDrive wind deflector over the back seat to reduce back draft air flow in the passenger compartment at high speed with the top down. It worked great, even better than the one we had for years in our Sebring, because the Mustang back seat is much smaller. At 80 MPH with the top down and the windows up, the airflow velocity in the Mustang from back to front between the driver and passenger seats was only about 7 to 8 MPH. With the windows down, the air flow velocity between the seats is slightly more, but still much less than without the wnd deflector installed. Another thing we discovered on the highway, was that the car has to be stopped completely in order to raise the convertible top. During the long road trip, we were trapped in several single lane construction zones with heavy traffic and no place to pull over when it started to rain. We could not raise the top, even going 5 MPH in the construction traffic and we could not stop to zero MPH to raise the top without creating a traffic hazard. Our old Sebring let us raise and lower the top if we were moving at less than 15 MPH. The Mustang needs to be able to raise the top at less than 10-15 MPH and not require you to make a full stop for 10 seconds while the top goes up. Other than these minor issues, the Mustang is fantastic. On one leg, we got up to 32 MPG on the highway at 75 MPH. We averaged about 28 MPG on the highway at 75 to 85 MPH cruise. We learned why the speedometer reads 80 MPH when the needle is straight up verticle: that is the speed that the Mustang V6 likes to cruise on the open road. You can forget using the SYNG blue tooth hands free telephone features on the freeway with the top down. The SYNC system built in microphone picks up too much wind noise. Overall, for the money this is the best convertible that I have ever driven."
